So... Jumper... I saw this in theaters, It hooked me and mom because of X-Men and mutant shit. Now, let me go through this... Anomaly of a film, It has Hayden Christensen and Jamie Bell with OP teleporting powers, Sam Jackson hunting down Jumpers, aka "Mace Windu's revenge". The film introduced Hayden to his futue wife, and mother to his kids, Rachel Bilson. (for awhile) Michael Rooker plays Hayden's dad, Diane Lane plays his mother, who is also a hunter. It also had fresh young actors like Annasophia Robb, and a cameo role of a pre-Twilight Kristen Stewart as Hayden's sister I just know too much about this not good fil (David S. Goyer wrote it, makes sense) (Oh yeah, Jamie Bell and Evan Rachel Wood have a kid together, off topic, but still interesting lol)

OP is right. They mention Nightcrawler, but Jumpers are so much stronger than Kurt. Jumpers seem to have near-effortless, planetary range, while Nightcrawler (pre-resurrection and pre-Bamf-enhancement) usually topped out at around 2 miles, minus crazy outliers. Jumpers seem to be limited by knowing a place well, or having it clearly in their minds, but this is no big deal thanks to pictures. Also, with practice they can move a lot of mass. When I get the superpower question, Jumper-style teleportation is usually my go-to answer.

What Matt and Woolie fail to realize in questioning why Jumper was even attempted to be a thing, its because its based on moderately successful line of books, so having a big movie and video game is them trying to make the Harry Potter lightning strike again like other properties like Percy Jackson, Chronicles of Narnia, and Series of Unfortunate events, its call because they gambled and lost big time XD

I remember seeing advertisements for the Jumper game around the time the movie came out. I saw said movie a year later on tv and watched it like 5 times for some reason. I oddly remember huge chunks of that movie verbatim. The villains in the movie are called Paladins and their religious fanatics who think only God should have the power to teleport. Jumping someone to the middle of the Sahara desert or some other remote region and leaving them there is a thing they do twice in the entire movie. THEY EVEN TEASED A SEQUEL AT THE END. And about jumping cars, I guess you COULD, but I don't remember if they did it in the movie. They did teleport an ENTIRE APARTMENT ROOM though.

They did teleport a car. They stole a car from the store and teleported it through the store window and I think there was even a chase scene where they teleport between traffic, but I'm not 100% certain about that part... I don't know why, but I remember how the more experienced dude mentioned that teleporting moving objects was harder than just teleporting yourself.

okay so a pretty serious plot point in the movie is that jumpers can teleport shit they're touching with them, but that there is a limit. griffin says he knew a jumper who tried to teleport a skyscraper and he died, i assume he exploded, it's great. point is, yes they can teleport cars, and yes they can teleport into midair. or into the ocean, and when they jump back they bring a sphere of water with them. they can control what they bring with them. at the end of the movie hayden christiansen is stuck to the walls of his girlfriends apartment and hes like. i cant jump this whole building. but i can jump this ROOM so he tears her apartment out of the building and i forget where they landed but it was a disaster

What they could have done on Woolie's Jumper is add in a fog of war. In the movie you could only jump to locations you knew so you couldn't jump through rooms of a house you haven't seen before. You could have objective based missions jumping around from point to point solving issues or infiltration style missions where it is more limited.

The only part I really remembered from the 360 version of this game was the finishers. You'd get a quick cutscene of Griffin teleporting a guy right next to an active volcano's lava flow so he can immediately burst into flames, or underwater in the middle of the ocean, or in front of a polar bear, or (my favorite) in low orbit so he burns up in re-entry.

I had to look this character up to see if there was really this much cop murder in the Jumper movie - apparently, "Griffin was able to build a semi-permanent shelter (which he called the Hole), the predecessor to the Lair, underground. This, too, was found by the Paladins after years of living in it."

The wave is actually a thing in the movie, they teleport by opening a wormhole in space and things can pulled into it, and when you open the wormhole on the other side, it pushes things out. A Jumper can also use the remain of a wormhole to teleport to reopen it and teleport into the same spot.
