Hi Rick. Thanks for this one, as I have written to you suggesting that us ocean fishermen and women that fish in 80-250' of water don't use clear and side vu, and needed a basic sonar tweak video, and you came through very nicely. If you can think of anything else to add, please do. I play with clear vu and side vu, but do not fish in that shallow of water. Great video!

A small nit. When you speak about how far the sound has to travel, you do know that sound in fresh water travels nearly 5000 ft/sec. For the depths that you show like 30 feet or so, that’s about 1/100 of a second! Great videos - keep it up.

Thank you so much for dropping a new video. I like the depth line. That makes a difference. Do you know how to create a route on your 93sv without doing it on your phone and transferring it to your 93sv if you want to create one on the water to follow the contour lines?

This is a great video and I really like the A-scope option. Have you ever seen the sonar flip the depth gage? Instead of 0 to 50 it reads as 50 to 0. Strangest thing I have seen.

Deep water here in Central Florida is about 12 feet but this was still great information. Do you man those fish symbols are not always fish? Is that why I do not always catch fish when I have the symbols of fish showing? Dang! 😳

When you are showing the edge setting on what is all the return below the edge line show?
@DoubleTFishing Жыл бұрын
My understanding is that is the bottom material below the water, sand, silt etc. the sonar signal penetrates through a certain amount of solids. I’m not an expert on the actual physics of the sonar signal. I have read quite a bit but still have many gaps.

Great video. I fish lake Michigan so I really get into deep water. Can I use picture advance on Clearview? Thanks.
@DoubleTFishing2 жыл бұрын
No it doesn’t have that option in clear view probably because of the narrow oval shaped cone angle.

When you hit Menu, how do you get the settings to pop up while still showing the sonar? When I hit menu on my unit, it goes to the settings but takes up the whole screen so I can’t see the effects of these changes unless I hit ‘back’

Just a question. If I map a lake with garmin on blank chip can I use the chip in another brand of unit like a hook 7
@DoubleTFishing2 жыл бұрын
Probably not, even the waypoints have to be converted to a .kml file to use in other brands but it might be worth asking Garmin?

How would you stop trolling motor interference on Garmin
@DoubleTFishing Жыл бұрын
Check your power and transducer cables are routed apart as best you can, your TM battery is separate from your chartplotter battery and your ferrite bead is attached to the transducer cable. From my experience when a brush type trolling motor gets worn it causes more interference, might have it serviced but that likely won’t solve all the problems. The newer brushless trolling motors do not create hardly any interference from what I’ve been told
