Not protecting you as soon as it goes on, you didnt purge and clear. So whatever prompted the mask is still in there with you and your seals have not achieved vacuum. To purge and clear, cover your filter with your hand, breathe out heavily. Then attempt to breathe in, the mask should suck up to your face if your seals are good and youve covered the filter properly. We'd usually do this about 3 times.
@hovanti3 жыл бұрын
Brian, and others, I strongly suggest being clean shaven so the mask seals against your face properly. You can put your hand over the opening on the filter and inhale; mask should suck against your face and stay that way while you hold your breath. Shave, or skip the whole mask thing. This from a Desert Storm veteran who trained often with a mask.

Excellent video. Very important information. I was thinking that a lot of people won't follow the advice because it's too expensive...well it's all about priorities. BTW...I started to make contact with my boy scout troop to start sending them some donations. Since hurricane María here in my island, I have been applying a lot of basic survival stuff learned in my boy scout time,of course complemented with my ARMY training and the videos of people like you. 👍🏼 very important to promote the Boys Scout of America.

totally agree with having a gas mask as an edc. i had a bad situation when i was just shopping around and in my way back to the parking lot, a couple of meters away the riot police was called because of a certain situation and they used gas for crows control. now the whole situation had stopped but the wind carried some gas to where my and my girlfriend were and all the people around us stopped and couldn't move because the wind carried the gas to our where the people were. i knew what was happening but the rest if the people froze scared so a gas mask would had been a good idea back then.

Do you know of the Parcil Safety ST-100X Full Face Respirator Gas Mask with Organic Vapor and Particulate Filtration for $119.97. I purchased four (4) of them for my family and they appeared to be an excellent buy for the price. This mask Works quite well. 🐢 👍 😃

Actually, yes I do. I am not saying they are no good (I have not actually held one in my hands) . And. look, I get it. Money doesn't grow on trees and I commend you for taking the initiative to protect your family and be more prepared. I am in no way criticizing your decision, but I do think there are some fairly significant differences between the 2 masks. The MIRA seems to be a little better constructed and offers benefits such as the drinking system. And I have to say one thing that stands out to me is that, even after digging through their website and good old Google, I could not find any info on where they are made. This usually means China, which quite honestly doesn't give me warm fuzzies for several reasons - especially when you are talking about a product intended to protect your life. And, to be honest, the little picture in their ads of a flag with the words "USA Seller" strikes me as a sort of sketchy attempt to give a casual observer the impression they are made in the USA. It just seems like they are trying to hide where the masks are made, unlike MIRA who are very clear theirs are made in the Czech Republic. Stuff like that turns me off. Again, I am NOT saying the Parcil are no good, just that they don't seem like an "apple to apple" comparison. Maybe I'll buy one and do an actual comparison and see for myself.

: Thank you for the fast response and your honest opinion. I understand that money does not grow on trees. I guess I rather get caught with something then without something. May the 2nd Amendment be with US. 🐢👍😃

@@SurvivalOnPurpose A (few) China made masks are good, they need them both for Army etc., and industrial safety. Designed rather fro an Asian face. Beware of many cheap generic masks on big internet resellers. quite different when you check with a genuine facility there (and they have, for coal industry, firefighters, etc.)

Great video. I wonder with the mask that has that wide FOV if a riser mount for an optic might help? A lot of people are using them for NV for the reason of not being able to get a cheek weld and more of a chin weld. Weird at first but people say once you get used to it it’s more comfortable shooting with your head more straight

You haven't been in the military it seems from not tilting the canteen, that mask puts me in mind of the Russian mask which the filter was told to the US GI'S back in the 80s was about 9 hours where as the one we had was good for around 16 hours . Good video though. I could be a little outdated because it's been 35 years since I was was in NBC. NUCLEAR BILOGICA school

Nice mask unfortunately they are not recommended for the present situation with covid because the exhaust valve is not filtered. My friend bought one and was refused entry into a vaccination site unless he wore a cheap medical mask over his mask. I have the cheaper 3M multigas with hepa filters but my exhaust valve can be filtered so I can use it for covid.

i think the machine could be half of what it is but keep the same battery pack. it seems over build unnecessarily. Id be fine with 1 filter on it and half the noise, half the power, half the size, twice the battery life.
