Had mine for 30 years, still have it in the back of the car. Saw works great on roots with all that grit, sand, and muck; its not for cutting logs. Its not really designed for throwing either, but for a compact, light weight compact folding spade they are pretty good. Nothing is going to beat a full side spade and pick axe. Pretty goof paddle too. I like mine, and its been a sound investment.
@SurvivalOnPurpose4 жыл бұрын
A paddle? Good idea
@OnTheRiver664 жыл бұрын
As an emergency paddle it would work. I carried my Cold Steel entrenching tool in my kayak as an emergency paddle. Hope never to have to use it. I didn’t know Glock made these 30 years ago! You cannot beat Glock quality! And that small size could fit into any vehicle.

@@OnTheRiver66 If you like the CS Spetz shovel then a Russian on ebay does a Titanium one. Fit CS handle and use CS cover and you have just about the perfect light weight pack spade. The Glock is lighter than most but still on the heavy side if you have to do the carrying. Titanium spade, Silkey Saw and Skrama has camp big chores sorted.

From appearances, it looks like the saw inside the handle is crafted from thick material and built more for strength than sawing. I'm sure it will do a marginal job, but compared to the razor teeth that you see today on common folding saws, pruners and other saws this one seems more like a carpenter's crosscut saw.

If you carry a shovel you need to dig entrenchments like a lunatic or crazy deep holes. For Bushcraft use if you need a fire hole use a pointed stick to loosen the ground and split the side of a bigger log to dig up the earth. Much cooler that way and no weight for a shovel you don’t really need.
