I find this message just fascinating. Celebrating a horrendous instrument of torture. A perfect, all powerful god creating humans and then condemning them all to hell for sinning and not believing in him. Then, sending his one and only son to die to appease his wrath by demanding he suffer and die a terrible painful death. If people don't come to faith by their own free will, they will go to hell, even though said all powerful god desires that everyone be saved. If I was all powerful and saw someone I loved so much walking towards danger, I would override their free will to save them. We do that as parents, if our little ones are going to do something harmful, we step in for their safety. I would think that the all powerful god who so desires that everyone be saved would put that above his desire that we come to him out of free will.
