@@swschilke I haven't done much Davinchi Resolve testing, but Puget Systems is an excellent resource for this. Looks like it needs an update for newer GPUs (though you can probably make some assumptions) but here's their Davinchi GPU Comparison / recommendation: www.pugetsystems.com/solutions/video-editing-workstations/davinci-resolve/hardware-recommendations/ Then you can enter pugets score in GPUSmart's "modify performance" section and it will work out a value for you. (as in, select the GPUs to compare. Enter Puget data into all 1080p performance figures for the cards. The 1080p "cost per frame" is now "cost per puget point") Hope this helps!

I've seen the best deals in July before, people have other things to do, go travel etc. That they ease up and have a big game bundle adding value makes the increases natural. Though why Nvidia were up, falling prices for the mid models can be expected due to VRAM

Frankly I'd rather have an RX 6700xt 12GB than tiny bit faster 3060 Ti 8GB at the same price. We've already seen games use more than 8GB above 1080p. Few of the games I play have DLSS, and ray tracing & high settings simply won't work on newer titles without more VRAM. I expect the 1440p recc will take VRAM into account.

True. I wouldn't recommend anyone a new 8 GB gpu in 2023 in that price category. It feels just like a rip off and you'll soon run into vram bottlenecks.

I recently picked up an Asus Tuf OC 7900XTX with Starfield premium for €1100. I sold my EVGA FTW3 ULTRA 3080 for €500. Im very happy with it thus far. I was going to buy a 'basic' 4090 (Galax) but I opted to buy the 7900XTX and put the extra money towards a 34" Alienware OLED monitor instead. Ive only been buying Nvidia cards for the last 10 years but the pricing at the high end is getting out of hand. Hence me getting my first AMD card.

@@AvroBellow AMD was out of competition since just a few years ago. 5600XT and 5700XT were the first cards in years that could compete atleast in the midrange that included decent drivers. Stuff like the RX 580, Vega etc. suffered heavily with the poor driver performance and only aged well after AMD finally got their shit together in 2020. The time their top level 6000 series cards came out the whole market was crypto inflated. If he was lucky he subscribed to the EVGA waitlist and got the 3080 for actual MSRP. So when exactly do you think he should have went with AMD? It's good that he made the decision now because its necessary but there is no reason to blame people for not buying significantly worse product back in the days

Hi there! I am getting the RX 7800 XT with Ryzen 7 7800X3D. I plan on using it for 1080P on Ultra settings and hopefully get high frame rates. I wanna use this for starfield hoping to get 80-90 frames at least. Would this be of good value? I don't mind spending the money on the 500$ GPU but nothing super high-end. I will use it to play other games and for work loads such as video editing. Some other games I play is Overwatch 2, and dead by daylight with Stanfield once I get it. I hope this set up of parts can handle these games well. I know it will do fantastically well on all the games I mentioned except star-field. I hope it does well as this will be my first time having a high end ish GPU with decent graphics and good frame-rate.

I upgraded from my RX 6800 XT to my RX 7900 XTX because there's apparently another GPU shortage coming. This will be because of AI and that's not going to end like mining did so who knows when the market will right itself this time. I got a sweet deal on an open-box ASRock Radeon RX 7900 XTX Phantom Gaming OC for less than $850USD from Newegg Canada. I jumped on it because I know that when all hell breaks loose again, there's no trekking how long it will last and the 24GB of VRAM will allow me to ride it out for a VERY long period of time. Sure, the 16GB of the RX 6800 XT might also be enough but there's no way of knowing for sure. I know that the RX 6800 XT is easily a better value RIGHT NOW, but I'm playing the long game here. I got burnt last time, paying far more for my RX 6800 XT than I paid for my RX 7900 XTX and that's not happening a second time.

I’m building a new PC as well with a 7800 XT. For the CPU I’m going with the “plain” AMD Ryzen 7600. It’s $220 USD, has a great upgrade path, and AMD has said they’ll continue to use the same chip platform (AM5) through 2025 at the earliest… possibly longer.

I just bought a used 3090 Gaming X Trio with 2 years of warranty left (it was produced in 2022 just before the 4090 release) for 650€ and managed to sell my used 6700XT Asus Dual for 300€. I need it for some basic level DL aswell not just for gaming and thought the 4090 is way overkill for my 1440p system. So yeah if you know what to look for (MSI warranty rules for example) you can actually strike good deals with 3000 series cards

I m at the 7 min of the video but FSR 3 Hyper- X button or what ever said that they will do Fluid Motion = Frem gen on all DX 11 and DX 12 games so should we take that in equation? Can 7600 be way better with that bcz is RDN3? you want to future proof your build and not limit it to 1080 and low frames. the 7800xt is a 1440 beast and anything performing similar in the +-$100 range is the 1440 golden spot and is a 1080p killer... 7800, 7700, 4070,3080,6800xt... if you are waiting , the prices will drop more

For FG to run it needs alot of Horse Power and a bit more VRAM....games today some even use 12-13gb at 1440p + RT...I dont think even 7800xt will do well in the next year or two lol Min 20gb for 1440p + RT + Ultra + FG for the next 2 years. 16gb will make it ok-ish till 2025 new console era.

Intel's 16GB Arc A770 graphics card is the one to beat, with drivers getting better and better almost on a weekly basis. I replaced my RTX 3070 Ti with the ASRock Phantom Gaming version, and I absolutely love it!!! And at less than half the cost.

3090 used at 650$ is better value than a new new 7800xt 550$ lol 3090 has 24gb of vram it has 1080p 22% up to 4k 34% better RT. Only downside is a bit more wattage,no AV1 and no warranty...... At this point maybe only new 7900xt at 800$ or a 7900GRE in a bundle. Low end used 5700xt no RT + FSR3 on all games + SAM at 150$ or a 2080 with RT,AI,DLSS,NO RE-BAR and some games FSR3 at 200$ High end only 4090.

MSI produced 3090 up into 2022 and even if you dont have an invoice they take RMAs until 3 years after the production date. You can see the production date in the S/N. I just bought a gaming x trio with basicly 2 years of warranty left for 650. So if you know what to look for you can strike decent 3000 series deals

Thank you for what you're trying to do but same problem as with Linus, bad data. I saw Asrock 6900xt under 500$, very few models of the 7800xt are 500$ and mostly out of stock + you should go for a better AIB model for around 550$, I would take a 6900xt 6950xt over 7800xt any day as the 7800xt is really a 7700xt so it's definitely not a high end card, even a good AIB 6800xt model is better than any so called 7800xt.

There aren't really any "bad" AIB models. I've had Albatron, ASRock, ATi, Gigabyte, Palit, PNY, Powercolor, Sapphire and XFX. The only bad card I ever got was an XFX RX 5700 XT. That doesn't mean XFX is bad though because I've had SIX cards made by XFX (five Radeons, one GeForce) and only one was bad which can happen to anyone.

@@AvroBellow"bad" no but not as good for OC, temps and noise, the founders edition is total garbage that no 1 should buy for 500$ that crap cooler can't cool that card even at stock. The cheaper AIB models can mostly handle the 260W but barely any OC headroom, crappy temps at stock fan curves or ok temps but noisy at higher fan speed. The top AIB models usually have the most OC headroom, very good temps at stock fan speeds so plenty of headroom there too. I have a 6800xt founders edition, one of the better founders coolers and it's still crap, max OC I can get at 75c hot spot and 2300 fan speed is 2500mhz, 1.01V at 210W, at 2600mhz, 1.02V it jumps to 240W with 2800 fan speed and 80s on the hot spot, I don't like my GPU running that hot so keep it at 2500mhz 210W, at this settings I can't hear it. 6800xt red devil can run 2900mhz at 80c+ on the hot spot with 2800 fan speed, 300mhz difference.
