Best Great White Shark Drone Footage of 2021 (Narrated)

This is my annual collection of my favorite great white shark moments I filmed with my drone over the course of this year. A two part installment this year, this part focuses on human-shark encounters and shark-sting ray encounters. All captured from above in 4K.

I just had an encounter with a juvenile great white at Pismo Beach, just north of the pier. Easily over seven feet, I caught a great view of its white belly as it breached out of the water. Confirmed by three other surfers. It was a little unsettling, but also one of the coolest things I've ever seen. I looked up shark behavior as soon as I got home, and found this video. Simply amazing, and absolutely beautiful! Thank you for taking the time to learn about these creatures and share with us. It gives me peace of mind, because I'm paddling right back into the sharks' backyard again tommorow!

It's the location that's catching your bias. As the channel has said he's never seen any white shark, eat anything in this location. They go straight up to a known food source,stingrays, in this area and still won't feed.. If they're actively foraging, however, they'll actively hunt, stalk and kill humans.

They don't actively hunt, stalk out attack humans as a food source. We are not on the menu for any shark. Sharks don't like eating humans. Humans do not have enough body fat to be attractive as food to sharks. Most shark "attacks" really from sharks taking a bite to determine whether or not we are edible. Unfortunately, many of these bites can be fatal. There are generally less that 100 shark "attacks" power year WORLD WIDE. Play the lotto.. Your chances are better than getting but by a shark. Oh and stop fear mongering

I would have to say your the best content creator for this type of film. I treated a patient victim of a great white attack in San Onofre. She was treated at Scripps La Jolla. Since changing her bandages I developed an irrational fear of sharks. I sold my surf board and never got back into the waters. I've always swam in the ocean. I grew up in San Diego. I always knew there were sharks there but you just don't worry about it. And now considering imagery like this showing how common swimmer/surfer meetings are it proves that shark attacks are actually even less common than we ever knew before. Great video!

On one hand people say "you're more likely to die in a car crash than by a shark attack" Often the counter response is "yea but you are in cars every day, you very rarely encounter sharks" This footage really is incredible, and shows how often (and how many) people actually do encounter sharks, and seemingly without even being aware of it. It really highlights how complex these animals and their behaviors are, and how they're not simple robots that only exist to feed. The only reason we don't know more about them than what we do, is because they're so difficult to observe both in terms of quantity and quality. Yet your footage appears to do a great deal of both. Absolutely loved it. Can't wait to see more from you.

@Jon Hesson The point is not really to say sharks are less dangerous than cars - or equally dangerous. It's simply to note that all the stereotypes are based in media-fueled fear, not actual logic and education. The vastly most important thing to understand in order to avoid potential attacks, is to know how to behave around sharks, and understand their typical behavior and patterns too. Behavioral patterns are so important with any animal. But every media outlet typically depict them as something they are not - even "credible" sources like NatGeo, which despite being generally quite objective, still benefit massively from fear-mongering aspect of "sharkphobia". The potential danger around sharks is very real, but the degree of that danger, and the degree to which we can (and often unknowingly do) avoid it is even bigger.

Love this video! I've seen hundreds of sharks over the past 6 years while paddle boarding North San Diego County. Have gotten used to the fact that they're always around and thru personal observation and videos like yours, have grown to love & respect these wonderful animals. I'm hoping you'll be lucky enough to capture one breaching - as it's pretty cool to see a 400+ lb fish in the air! Or when a sea lion turns the tables & chases after them (seen a few times). Your passion for documenting the movement of these sharks and their interaction with humans and other sealife is absolutely nothing short of incredible. I love the movie Jaws. And the book by Peter Benchley. Which unintentionally created such strong feelings of fear and mistrust of sharks. So your channel helps to demystify those fears. As a scuba diver im always cognisant of the fact that us humans are entering their territory as guests. Obv shark attacks, especially fatal ones are horrendous but they are rare. Your drone footage and commentary are a fabulous learning tool for all ocean users. As u very much shift the narrative of sharks, especially great whites, as being non stop hunting killers no matter the circumstance. Your footage proves thats just not realistic. So thankyou x

Sharks are like seadogs, they don't wanna hurt you or eat you but they can make mistakes and are to be respected if you're in their environment. 99.5% of the time if the shark knows your there and you aren't sticking your arms in its mouth it's just gonna leave you alone and do it's thing.

As the founding Organiser for Sea Shepherd New Zealand, we need to protect sharks, and all ocean life. Reduce or stop eating fish, even farmed fish as it takes so much from the oceans.
