Yes they are! I grew up in Wake County, my dad worked for hort dept at State and I spent two summers working at university field labs, some of that was planting sweet potatoes. Good memories. :D

Sweet potatoes season down here in Alabama and I do love me some baked sweet potatoes with cinnamon and butter, and now thanks to you I can try some on the grill. My way of cooking: "put in some of this and some of that", "How much?", "Just enough." Haha. I'm about to bring in my sweet potatoes hopefully this weekend, but Delta may say differently. Usually get about 100 to 150 lbs of Beauregards from a 40' row. Love me some sweet taters!!! Baked, grilled, oven fried, any way you cook them. Pairs with just about anything; Black Eyed Peas, Collard Greens, (dare I say it?) Ham Steak. Love your farming channel too!

Did your sweet potato recipe today. Didn't use North Carolina sweet potatoes I use sweet potatoes out of my garden variety is BODACIOUS. Since I live in the Midwest and don't have the privilege of having DUKE mayo I used whatever was on sale. That being said I followed your recipe pretty much to the point. And it was DELICIOUS! The recipe is a keeper.

@@ThisFarmWifeCooks Not really, but the things you see in cans on the grocery shelf are not yams, they are sweet potatoes. Yams are mostly grown in South America and are nothing like sweet potatoes - they are bitter, woody and starchy. Sweet potatoes are much, much better.
