Great video. As a tattoo artist myself I have always refused to ink anyone from the neck up. Been doing for 15 years and the community really appreciate me for that.

If required I offer my two cents in a respectful manner but at the end of the day theyre adults. Fingers and the pad line are areas I go into greater detail about poor ink retention, clients should be informed and all options should be discussed for any tattoo, its part of our job, doing so is always appreciated and you will retain that client for the long haul.

My first tattoo yesterday, at 58, a bracelet with my brothers name, who passed away three weeks ago, and roses, on my worst. I had been wanting to get angels with my mothers name on the back of my neck, and am still going to. Then when he passed I started thinking of this and just went with it yesterday. I live it. And so do my siblings. And I’m goi g to get the wings next week!

Hi, thanks for you videos, I love theme and they are helping me a lot. Can you please talk about how to tattoo a back peace in a uneven shoulder costumer? A friend of mine would like to get it done simmetrically but I think this might make his back look more uneven. Thanks in advance 🖤🖤

My tattoo doesn’t look straight. I know I can’t just twist it 5 degree, is there a way to add something to it to make it look straight/squared

Would script/text/words/etc tattoos look odd if it's 'vertical'? Like for example on your arm, if you stand up straight, obviously it's hard to read

One thing I will say of you are ever tattooing yourself. Stretch if you ever end up tattooing your leg 😂 I'm aching from it. Tattoo pain is one thing but being in awkward position is another 😂

This is something I wish other artists would do with advising. One of the biggest reasons I'm not going to be bothering with tattoo shops in my area for an apprenticeship. Not only does my area not have strict guidelines about sterilization (to the extent of imagine sitting in a shop and watching artists use the same ink caps for multiple clients), but I have seen so many people who are 17-20 getting neck and face tattoos, from everything from confederate flags, white supremacy symbols, or my personal (un)favorite, a naked pin up woman on the side of a 19 year old's neck that I knew the older brother of. If I ever get to work in a shop (I'm currently 26, been looking at apprenticeships for 5 years, been an artist for 10+ years, it's unlikely), my general rule will be I'm not doing jobstoppers on anyone who doesn't already have a good chunk of tattoos or is still college age/entry career age, which for here that's typically 18-22, by 23 you're expected to be in a full time career/married with kids/etc. Even then, it'll be a long conversation of like "hey, here's the major cons you need to be aware of before I do this tattoo, and I want you to seriously consider this before we go any further." I'm honestly so close to just sending this video to the tattoo artists I know in my area because it's ridiculous here.

Build your skills on fake skins first, then only when you're confident enough, transition to human skin
@Mr.Canuck Жыл бұрын
I tattooed my mentor just fine but that first real client I was probably more nervous that they were, it only gets easier from there. Patience. Tattoo yourself, it will build confidence and provide a far better understanding of the many facets and intricacies of tattooing real skin than would silicone. If youre going to f*ck up a tattoo it had better be on yourself and not some unfortunate client or friend, you can always revisit it and cover or redo with your developed skills. Ive been tattooing for over 15 years, a few pieces of advice if I may: always always check your ego and then check it again, tattooing is an endless learning curve of slowly honing techniques in drawing and tattooing so be patient and restrain your tattoos to your current tattooing ability !!check yourself!! Most importantly start SIMPLE, dont get in over your head and make a mess of someone, baby step every single tattoo as you develop your skills and IMO one of the best ways to improve your art is to be very critical of your work and learn from every tattoo and every drawing, draw your design analyze it then draw it again with alterations/refinements 9 times out of 10 you'll like the second version, build up that drawing vocabulary and never ever trace you'll learn nothing. Stay humble because nobody likes a scratcher or rockstar, your reputation is everything.

I didn’t know that there was SOOOOOO many Nazi symbols. I learn a new one every month
@Hudson44269 ай бұрын
The meaning of the tattoo is frustrating cuz one culture may have stolen it from another. For example the swastika was originally meant as a symbol of sanctity, power and luck; but was stolen to mean something entirely different
@thehypest61183 ай бұрын
As someone from Latvia, we really feel this, people get lots of rune tattoos here and the Perkonkrust is one of our runes but everyone in Europe just sees a swastika, I get really bored of it because the Nazis used the symbol for like what 30 years at most? It's been a part of our culture for thousands of years, not to mention a part of so many other cultures world wide and it's only ever been used as a bad symbol once by the angry Germans

I want a tattoo on my buttock. will an artist do this ? Its for me and really not for others to see that is why i chose it as the spot for the work.
@Tattooing10123 күн бұрын
Most artists will tattoo a butt if it’s a design you’re serious about and the placement makes sense for you. Just make sure to communicate clearly with your artist about your intentions and comfort level-they’ve likely seen it all and will handle it professionally

@@Tattooing101 thanks for the reply! i really dont want it visible to anyone. it is a reminder of what ive left behind me literally and figuratively. . It is not a graphic or lude design..id never ask for something that the artist would find objectional. This can be done with me wearing shorts. Id not have to bare much flesh.

Watch the vid. Me to surprised the guy was talking this reasonably having noncultural face tatts . But he was telling and warning others that just because you like them when you get them doesn't mean you will still like them few years later on. Facetattoos conflict our brains into reading emotion. Yet some type of facetattoos are cultural heritage with deep identity and meaning ans symbolism. ( inuit-sapmi berber ,maori-polynesian , ...)
