I gave this a try and it worked the first time for about half of my lighters. The second time, 99%. There was only one lighter that was giving me a hard time, but in the end, it succumbed to this hack and and started working. I went back through my history to find this video to give it a like and comment.

*WOW!!!* I've owned a cigar lounge for over 10 yrs and have NEVER heard this. It just fixed 3 of my favorite torches that were just languishing in my dead drawer because I couldn't bear to throw them away. THANK YOU! I owe you a cigar if you're ever in town.

Excellent! Thanks much! I had 5 different irreplaceable and rare collectors butane torch lighters that I never thought I would get working ever again after all my different attempts over the years. This brought everyone of them new life in minutes. You, sir, are a hero

Unless the butane lighter is a rather expensive one and even those eventually lose their lives. It's just inevitable. I used that trick for a good year or so on several different styles and qualities and it never failed... they all eventually took a dive into the trash compactor (yes, I purposely referenced Star Wars) I've never owned a super expensive one but I imagine their guts are a little more durable than your average one you pick up at a liquor store or something. Go to a cigar grotto. You'll find higher end lighters there or you could maybe shop online Fuel too is important. Now More refined the better. Get yourself a few stainless steel wire brushes or even the copper brushes and after every 2 or 3 times of usage. Take those brushes with the burners pointed down with the bristles facing up at the burners and start cleaning. I usually twist the lighter rather than the brush. I keep the brush stationary and twist the lighter itself. I think I have more control therefore making the cleaning quicker and more sufficient, because all the debris is falling down away from the burners as opposed to the debris falling back into the burners further messing it up more. I hope you understand that mess I just wrote

@@SamuelDavidDeLuce i Just bought a palladium line 2 ST Dupont for $1500. I dont think I will use a wire brush on it but I know that I certainly did not use ST Dupont fuel for $90 for 60ml. I found a company that makes fuel for culinary purposes because their propane and butanes are 99.99998% pure. ST Dupont is only 99.995% which actually makes a difference (its not approved for use in food processing). I see comments about people using 'cheaper fuels' on expensive lighters like mine and its quite annoying that they fall for marketing. My fuel is 11x refined and ST Dupont is 3x. The other interesting thing to note is that its about how pure the gasses are in the fuel not just the butane. The butane cans that contain nothing but pure butane do not work on lighters. The lighter mixes use a 30/70 propane to butane mixture. I had no idea there was propane in all our refills but this was confirmed by the chemists at the company I purchase from. My bottle says 70/30 and (butane/propane) and I was worried I bought the wrong product. They are actually all this way. It is not exactly correct to tell people to buy the purest butane possible since they do actually sell pure butane cans. Strange huh? Also I used this new fuel in place of the xikar fuel and it actually made some of my lighters that have a tiny bit of problems with reliability light perfectly every time for the first time. The fuel is called Blue (blue flame butane blend). It beats ST Dupont and ST Dupont is literally 7200% more expensive per ml.

Thank you this worked wonders for my 5 lighters! There was one stubborn lighter that needed one additional step, which was to switch away from Ronson butane that I got at Walmart to a premium butane that I got off Amazon. After that, along with the step that you mentioned, it started functioning perfectly!

Legit, I thought you had a pile of bots juicing the comments but I figured the lighter was dead anyway, might as well try. Got my Honest brand jet back up. What’s more is that it was only lighting like a plain bic and has regained its jet flow. It’s an angled pistol type shape with a drop over cover so that was very inconvenient. Seriously thanks.

I see a lot of you are interested in how to unplug a cigar. OK. There are several ways. The first is to gently roll the cigar between your fingers at different points on the cigar. Start in the middle. Then try closer to the foot, then the head. You can also use a cigar poker, a large paperclip, or a mini-screwdriver. Poke the implement through the foot, but you really have to be careful on this one. Don't go too deep, and try different points on the foot, but not too close to the edge or you'll tear the wrapper. You can also repeat this at the head, but be even more careful. You might also want to check to see if you clipped deep enough. If you still have a little cap, try shearing off a little bit more. Those are the best remedies I know. If the plug is somewhere in the middle, you probably won't be able to reach it. And the deeper you go, the more chance of splitting the wrapper. Hope that helped, and happy smokes. You can also check out this video by Tommy Zman: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ipbPkqiriLuif7c G-~

Didn't work for me. Not 100% anyway. After doing it, I get a proper jet for a couple of seconds, but then it goes out again. And with every single press, it gets shorter, until it's clogged again. I can hear the butane hissing after the flame goes out, so it has to be something about the oxygen not reaching the flame.
