That arched, "steepled fingers" gesture is one I avoid uncompromisingly, ever since I did it in a public speaking course and my teacher said it was an expression of boredom. Over the 40 years or so since then, observing others and noting when they resort to the "triangle," it has grown very clear to me that the professor was right. People resort to the triangle when they are in a perfunctory, rote, scripted mood, rattling off what they know they have to tell you but is quite "old" and thoroughly unengaging to their own minds.

My teacher always scold me for doing hand movements while answering a question or talking on any topic or when i tell some concepts related to understanding of concepts. He getting angry on me .
