Whith a quantitative ranking system like this, a full sized upright vacuum will be the overwall winner. It will win all categories (power, battery life, fearures) except the one that defines a handheld vacuum: weight. Usability is so important to a vacuum cleaner especially in the handheld category. I'd like to see less focus on which one has the highest airflow and more information on stuff like: Which one is best for car cleaning duties? -comes with attachments like crevice tool -work well with low pile carpets and upholstery -can fit around tight spaces Which one is best for cleaning up quick messes? -light, easy to use and convenient Which one is best for cleaning up after pets? -good with hair, wet mess Which one is best for regular house cleaning? -long battery life, good power Which one stores best? -dock and storage for attachments

Great vid as always! Careful with the budget options, these look alike models have their batteries soldered meaning there's no way of replacing them without special soldering tools. Those batteries start degrading significantly at around 2 years and the whole unit needs to be thrown away. I'd like to see some content on the power tool brand portable vacuums like the Ryobis and Milwaukees of the world which offer swappable batteries which to me is a game changer.

The Bissell Pet Hair Eraser works for 15 mins before needing a 5 hour recharge. It's a major let down and I regret buying it. The charger is slow AF compared to other common battery tech. I'd avoid these sealed battery edge case vacs. It's 2024 and the expectations of new products efficiency have risen. The charging and battery quality experience in the first 24 hours reminds me a lot of cheaper disposable Black&Decker products of the 90s.

However I finally got a hold of the homasay (it's sold under a different name on Amazon now) and held vacuum that you recommended a few years back and I hate it sometimes statistics just aren't the deciding factor. The ergonomics of it just kind of suck (pun intended). Not to mention I can't stand that big fat nozzle it has but it's just a little tiny hole that actually goes in so you have to vacuum every time with the long extension tube in for pinpoint accuracy. It does the job though so whatever. If I ever get around to it I may have somebody scan and 3D print a better nozzle

I had, and used daily, what you call an "old school" Black and Decker Dustbuster for almost twenty years. Absolutely fantastic suction. It finally stopped keeping a charge. So I bought the Black and Decker Furbuster-- that's scored so high here--and it's been a total disappointment. I'm returning it today. Maybe I bought a malfunctioning one. I don't know. But it won't even suck up scattered cat litter. The attachments are worthless. I guess I was spoiled by all those years of trouble free service from my old one. My old one had a wall mount. This thing doesn't. My old one would suck up M & M's--several at a time--and this one can't even handle cobwebs. So I agree that this You Tuber should make his comparisons with vacuums that weren't made in China.

Otherwise you only presented winners for your own defined use case, which is cool I guess if everyone's use case was the same, but it's not. Like when comes to attachments I don't care for spinning brush thing at all, what I do care is one which will get into tight crevices, or one with a normal brush at the end, or hose extension. Get my drift? For future videos, please remember that your own use case is not a universal one, fit for all, or even for a vast majority.
