They came on the bike when I bought it and yes they sound awesome. Its a shame that Yamaha abandoned their Star brand. They were great bikes and if they had kept them in production and continued improving them they would be selling like hotcakes with the mess Harley has become.

I have a 2002 Yamaha road star that needs fresh fuel, a a carburetor cleaning. Also need a new clutch kit which I’ve bought already. Just got a new battery and she’s got spark and the engine turns over. The wife and I had been saving up for a house, so the bike restoration had been put on hold for a couple years unfortunately. But now it’s time. I really miss riding her and can’t wait to get her back in the road.

@@ridingonabudget Yeah, like the Suzuki DR 650 Yamaha should've given the Road Star a good 30 years of production, the problem is Yamaha will have to compete with what Harley are making today which is a more complicated pile of crap.
