@@tiffm3110 Gone then! I hear the cricut machines are worth it;sounds like you got some really good design ideas. I'm torn between getting a $500 heat press and just paying $2 a shot to have my jpegs transferred to paper or investing that $500 into an adobe acrobat design program,printer, portable iron and transfer paper supplies.Interesting timing by you? you got a chance to blow up.
@tiffm3110
@tiffm3110 4 жыл бұрын
@@Shahmar I LOVE my cricut! I got the maker and I love that it cuts fabric and draws on the seam allowance since I'm still new. Idk if I got lucky with timing or super unlucky. I planned for over a year and jumped in this December but then Corona hit! I've been having trouble ordering supplies and being delayed. I didn't want to pay for design so I've been learning Gimp. When I say I'm new I'm 100% new. I personally like having a heat press. I invested in a heat press nation one and it's so worth it. I press the shirts really fast, sublimation, vinyl, heat and bond applique for embroidery. I really hope this work out because I need to work for myself. The 16 by 20 or 16 by 24 I have both of them and to be quite honest I don't like it. If the 20 or 24 was vertical instead of horizontal it would be better it's really Hard to do T shirts on such a wide area I'm getting a 15 by 15 instead

Well I talked to heat press nation and they do have a 16x20 and a 16x24 portrait style,which means that 20" is going up-and-down rather than left and right. I ordered it and it's awesome I realized that 15" isn't enough so I sent that back and got a 16 x 20 portrait style which is perfect. I suppose 24" would be even better but that Extra 5" is perfect because alot of my designs are bigger than 15" so you have to adjust the shirt and heat press a second time which I don't like and can cause the vinyl to not be applied properly heating it up again. With the 20" I can get pretty much any design with one press. So I will save everybody a lot of time, forget the 15x15 it will limit you go for a 16x20 portrait style heat press,trust me you will thank me. I found out it's only like 30 bucks more I thought it was hundreds more so why the hell wouldn't you lol. And one more thing I ordered a swing away press and it didn't swing all the way off the platen which made it harder to use than a clamshell. Unless you get the really expensive Stahls heatpress the HPN brand doesn't swing all the way off the platen and its sucks trying to adjust the shirt trust me. It is a horrible horrible design. Anyway sorry for such a long reply I hope I can help people through my trial and error.

I just purchased one, and so glad I picked this one! I was so tired of researching and reading mixed reviews on Amazon, that I decided to search youtube and came across this video. This is my first heat press, and I didn't want anything too large, but this machine is not that big for a 15x15, but it is very heavy. The buttons were easy to set and it is very smooth. I love the slide-out feature and I feel safe using it. I've seen other presses that people use where their hands are right under the hot plate which terrifies me, so I don't have to worry about that with this machine. I am very happy with my purchase.. thanks for a great and honest video!

Sublimation needs even pressure for thinker sub straights outside of shirts. So a swing away is better because it’s a straight up and down press and it’s always flat. Clam shells do fine for thinner sub straight and they have been made with some give. But it’s un natural for anything thick.

Will this run off of a simple circuit breaker? I live in a 1 bedroom apartment and ordered a cheap 15x15 Amazon press and it kept shorting my breaker

Hi Stan, I would like to know if you still feel like this is the press to buy for a newbie like myself starting out. I wish to work with my son, whom is into graphic design for fun and profit. Thanks Al

@@StanBanks I'm hittin' up a lot of your respondents for the 411 because I'm on the brink. I have TOO MANY ideas for designs and not the collab,patience or love for creating on a program and printing myself. I found a site that say's they'll charge 2$ per transfer from uploaded files which will work for now. My heat press budget was for $300 but you got me thinking. I'm not saying "sell me" but I will appreciate you if you help me start the game off tight.Trying to make sure that I know everything that I need to get started.

Thanks for the tutorial. I'm looking for a heat press so I can make mugs. Is there one that you don't have to remove the top plate. Which one would you recommend?

How do you feel about the 9x12 vs 15x15 for starting
@shawnsderbyden1032
@shawnsderbyden1032 5 жыл бұрын
Stan Banks it's not bad but it had its down sides it was a swing arm and while I did some 3xl stuff on there I'm not sure it's all that good for ppl starting out onless they plan on doing small stuff just due to having to plan your presses ahead of time so you can get a good size design but it takes multiple presses I would say 15x15 would be the best size to start with I keep my 9x12 for kids stuff and my wife's crafts
