the base line human wants noting more than to have fun sit with friends, dance, sing, eat and drink. while others sit and watch their demons sealed away to protect the fun loving ones the weak ones , old one and the young ones, careful to not let the demons out unless called upon, but all humans can be monsters if you endanger those smaller weaker and more helpless than ourselfs. and we know no rest when faced with such things.

Yes, we humans are horrible monsters when angered or wronged. But even at our worst, there is still that child in humanity that looked upon the universe in awe and wonder. And we do so like to share that wonder with others. I hope there is more to this story.

I get the feeling that this could be summed up with humans ushering them out the door like a daycare worker and then shutting the door after they're out while Doom music suddenly starts playing as we look over to the invaders.

Love and care, hate and wrath, are different sides to the same coin. If you truly love something, you are willing to fight for it, and if you truly care, you learn what hurts. How can you avoid hurting those you love, if you don’t know what causes pain? If you don’t know what causes pain, how will you protect those you love?

Just found this one and I think it just became my favorite of all the HFY readings I've heard so far. I'm musically sensitive, and even have a limited form of synesthesia to where if I'm hearing the right kind and quality of music for my mood at the time I can actually see it - and it's the most beautiful thing imaginable. This was almost that beautiful, in my mind, and I could stand to read and hear a lot more like it.

1:38 blitz reference perchance? (to those non-brits in the audience, the blitz was the roughly 8 month long period in ww2 in which German bombers pounded British airbase, supply depots, ships and cities, even in broad daylight. The reason I bring that up is because large scale evacuations did happen, if only for the children, similar to the planetary evacuation we see here)

Nah! we're simple creatures really. We like to play and have fun, laze about and make up tall tales, BUT! Our world .. lets say its not conductive to our moods. When your own belly is empty , that's one thing. When you hear children complaining of being hungry..something gonna die to feed them and fuck the consequences. See? simple! Those lizards broke the rules. War we know, and death too, its the spur that drives us. So when we see a small child like species hunted ,not for food, but for sport.. well, out blood pressure rires and adrenaline fills out blood making us crazy. War and hunting have rules, not our rules , rules imposed by nature itself, by life itself. To see them violated ..it reminds us we are His true children. Him, the great leveler, the devourer that is always hungry. We call Him death and He is the Father of our civilisation. It is to deny Him we took to the stars looking for answers. Yet, no matter how much we deny it, we are His true Children. You break the rules ,you find out what it means that our Father is always where we are. We really are simple creatures. But our Father .. He is another thing altogether. DON'T BREAK THE RULES!

You are right. We, humans, are the true children of Death and Life. We are primal, eternal, and all-encompassing. When the Rules of Life and the Laws of Death are violated Father and Mother let their true children out to play.
