Geneva Convention is an agreement. Only applies when all parties abide by it. Soon as one side breaks it, it turns into of list what is allowed & not allowed depending on who broke what rule.

Yup. This is how it is for all treaties. On principle, the provisions of any treaty only apply if both parties keep up their end of the agreement. If one party disregards a treaty, the other party is free to do so as well. This is to prevent the sort of phony trial we see in this story.

You never gotten so competent at killing (hopefully in a game) that actually bringing what you consider a weapon turns every possible conflict in click, done, well that was anticlimactic... Usually happens when you are aiming to fill about a thousand body bags yourself with a blade over the course of one evening for reference. Temporal engineering is beyond overpowered. Dude can skip to the end of solving a problem to just eavesdrop their names then go back and murder then at age one if willing to sacrifice a pocket tesseract not necessarily as complex as a canalised TARDIS for a paradox canceller. Time mages don't fight, they unmake people. So yeah, more than one reason to have a few honour rules so to speak.

Humanity has two primary traits that are both scary. We have a spirit in us that compels us to explore and share what we find with our people. To share our joys and tragedies. The human spirit lifts one another up so long as you embrace it. It is our inner fire, a willpower of absolute iron that even allows us to go past our biological limiters to prevent our own power from destroying our body (your muscles are strong enough to damage your own skeleton to the point it can never be fixed, such as a 100 lb woman who never lifted anything heavy able to pick a car up off of one axle to save their own child...their spine will crack and shatter, their arms and legs will crack and split, but they will do it...this is what human willpower can accomplish). The second is an absolute thirst for spiteful revenge and vengeance on the behalf of others. Humanity has a sense of justice in it. The compass for that justice is not always well adjusted but we all have it. Humanity will become extremely petty and spiteful if you push us...and we are willing to play the long game to completely take an enemy down so low they can never stand up again.

Yeah this checks out. Humans abided by the rules. And gave every single opportunity for offender to change. Filed every document and ticked every box and when no one did anything but hide it... we did what we do best. We got real proportional around here. Sire the war was a pretty darn equal response. But all of humanity with our capitalism and extensive trade and willingness to spend and all... when we all packed up as one as if on a countdown... that would send entire multi system economies into extremely rapid collapse. Whole empires will fall apart within months to a year. And humans will sit back amd watch. I love that the human ambassador is actually an intelligence agent. Clearly one skilled at navigating diplomacy amd interstellar law, but an agent all the same. This would actually make for a fun movie, or HBO miniseries even.
