Frankly, it would have been easier...you're talking about humans with _zero_ grounding in Western (Christian) Civilization, straight up _'kill or be killed'._ No mercy, no quarter...the only important question: 'Are the xenos tasty?'

How about you xenos just come as friends. We could all sing kumbayah by the fire and share some game. No killing except for whatever meat that's meant for dinner. If you're herbivores then there will still be meat but you can have the vegetarian variety. We got those too.

No because they essentially subordinated themselves to us that is different to peace as a peaceful interaction is inherently unstable as situation like this can reduce tensions and allow for cultural merging and intergration
