I have the U12t and I thought that it was as good as it gets. Until I managed to purchase an Elysian Annihilator 2023. The Annihilator ANNIHILATES the U12t in every way. Visceral, in your face sound with unmatched detail, massive soundstage, powerful bass slam and what is widely considered to be the absolute best treble of any IEM on sale today. Truly god-tier IEM. Too bad it's so hard to get.

Enjoyable to watch and to get a sense of different IEMs for different people. Some reviewers focus on what they like (which is fair enough). Amd I like your phrase at the end about the best IEM being "tjw one that best helps you connect to the music you listen to..."

i’m interested in the sultan but idk if it can handle complex music that’s fast like heavy metal. technicalities can be cool but i prefer to listen to something that’s going to make the music the focus and not technicalities. not comparing it to anything else, but simply considering the sultan on its own, can it handle fast busy and complex music, without sounding congested as tho it’s struggling to keep up? if it can do that i think that’s the monitor for me. i did like your description of the phoenix. i hadn’t heard of that brand until a few days ago.

What other iem from the ones mentioned or perhaps others would you guys consider as a good addition to my u12t? I want it to be something different enough to justify having both.
@BloomAudio2 жыл бұрын
So that depends on what you're looking for exactly. Tia Trio gives you some similar characteristics, but with a more "fun" sound - bigger dynamic driver bass, and a little bit more sparkle/sizzle. We mentioned some really standout basshead stuff (Nio, Legend Evo) in the videos. On the flipside, for something more analytical that might be more bass-lite, the Empire Ears ESR or Campfire Audio Ara are definitely worth looking at.

So Tia Fourte are under 12t ? As quality sound ? When I listened to 64 I thought Tia Fourte were the best by far.. largest soundstage with a perfect frequency balance , a bit of warmth in sound and largest soundstage from 64 .. so it’s curious they didn’t make the list..

Great vid! Questions - I’m more into classic rock, you would pick the Sultan over the Odin? Also what portable DAPs would you suggest I consider to go with the Sultan?
@BloomAudio Жыл бұрын
For most classic rock, metal, or alternative rock, I'd recommend the Sultan over the Odin. I find that, in particular, Sultan highlights guitars and drums better than Odin - kind of your key elements for most rock music. For the Sultan I'd recommend going slightly more towards a reference sound, so the Astell&Kern KANN Max or iBasso DX320 would be good.

I might be asking a 5 star chef what he thinks of McDonalds, but….. what you think about the Fiio FH7s ?
@BloomAudio Жыл бұрын
Haha - I get to listen to a lot of expensive gear, but you'll also catch me plugging Koss PortaPros into random amps at CanJam, so it's not like I'm some kind of headphone Gordon Ramsey over here. I've only heard the FH7 once, and I felt like they had really great mids and a surprisingly big soundstage. My impression was that they were excellent for the price.
@thomas.earl.speers Жыл бұрын
@@BloomAudio … thanks for the encouragement 😂 … I’m actually rocking the FH7S rather than FH7 . from what i’ve read, it’s an improvement. I actually bought the Senn IE600 at the same time and returned the 600 because they sounded to flat compared to the boomy FH7S . a little boom is needed with some NIN and TooL tracks . the IE600 did sound Great . I can hear the precision in it . just not my flavor .

To be fair, I was in a rush that morning, and just grabbed the top t shirt off my pile of black brand swag shirts in my closet. 64 Audio ends up in heavy rotation in that situation as they've sent us a ton of t shirts. :)

@@dzemoski45t was mentioned in the video that the U18T went toward a more "neutral" balance, and lost some of the excitement or immediacy to the sound.
