I absolutely love the styling and usability of the power- how about you?

I absolutely loved my z900 especially for the value. Such a good bike for around town or full blown canyon carving!

Do you regret selling it?

I have a '22 black Z900 with twilight blue cowling. I've had it for almost 3 years. I buy and sell lots of almost new bikes of all persuasions. The Z900 is among my favorite for sure. Smooth 4 banger, excellent transmission, cool exhaust sound(even with just a slip on. I just bought a new red GSXS1000GT plus with the K5 engine rated at 152 hp, like the naked. The Z engine imo is superior in every way, even power. The k5 pulls hard , not harder at hi rpm. The Z will take off in 5th, barely slipping the clutch. And anyone that says the Z's brakes suck is dead wrong. The GT has Brembos in front and they need a little help. All in all, the Z isn't going anywhere and I dumped my MT09 too. Love Z900's!

And btw, the gt has a quickshifter and the Z doesn't. I don't even fool with it. Like shifting manually. Part of owning a bike.

Did you get the GSX as a more touring friendly bike? I have not yet ridden one but on paper they look great and fairly competitive with the Versys 1000. Thanks for the comparison on the power between the two! I definitely prefer the Z900 to the MT09 as well.

@@alexdombi-weridetwo Just returned from a solo 2200 mile trip to the Pacific ocean. Needed side cases and windscreen protection. The gt performed excellent, but for some reason the Z's engine felt stronger and much smoother. Love 'em both. Thought my red gt looked better than the sx. imo.

I really like the SE model with the real brakes. No need for a quick-shifter, or lean computer, keep it simple for the real man motorcycle. I had a 2011 Z1000, which I loved. So quick, yet reliable, and handsome. I got rear-ended though by a kid in a FORD Explorer at a traffic light. I really like the new 2024 Z900SE or the 2024 GSX1000s naked also. It would be a toss-up. Both are perfect bikes. Yeah, put a full exhaust on it and get a tune. So nice.

So sorry to hear of your accident! I'm glad you're relatively alright, though. While not completely necessary, the SE has much more adjustable suspension too which is a very nice add. The green frame looks amazing too. I do have a video on the GSX1000 if you're interested (kzbin.info/www/bejne/m4jOmHqYo99ma8k) Looking at the used market, they don't seem to hold their value as well as the Z900 does- but the quickshifter is really smooth on them. I see more of the Z900's out around Houston than the GSX1000S which could be a good or a bad thing depending on if you want uniqueness or recognition. Spoiler alert, in the video I said I'd choose the Z900 ;)

Looking at getting a Z900 as they are on super sale in my area, $7k for a base model 2024. I like the fact it doesn't have all those lean angle sensors and is a basic bike...less to go wrong, cheaper to own upfront and maintenance is cheaper without all the gizmos and whirlygigs. You mentioned the power but is the torque punchy? I like a punchy torque feel that feels fast, even if you are only going 35mph.
@alexdombi-weridetwoАй бұрын
$7k is a stellar deal- assuming US dollars. The Z900 packs a punch with more torque and horsepower than the MT-09. It is a bit heavier, but still feel like a quick bike. I agree with the electronics- my Z1000 is so raw with no tech beyond a fuel gauge :D

I have the 2013 Z1000. Wish it had a TFT and cruise control.

I love the 2013 z1000. My favorite is the 2014-2016 generation. If I don't get a z900 I'll be getting a z1000.

I'm thinking about getting the SE model another $1500 more but it gives me what I would add on anyway and it would cost me 5 times that amount.... it is a really good bike for the money...

The suspension alone makes it a more customizable bike. Plus, green is the best color 😉

Is the throttle response smooth, over all?
@alexdombi-weridetwo2 ай бұрын
It's not as smooth as the Versys 1000, but it's by no means twitchy. Compared to my gen 1 z1000, it's like butter, though.

This bike is so fast compared to my current bikes. It's usable power but also has the ability to skirt the line of danger. I love it!
