I have seen several auditing videos from auditors in post offices in several states and these LEOs clearly do not understand that they have no legal jurisdiction in post offices except in emergency circumstances. The state certifying agencies need to update their training in police academies and yearly update training. As a LEO I get that some may not be aware of cross-jurisdictional issues but that information should be dessiminated by the agencies responsible for officer training.

If a local LEO arrests someone in a post office for a minor crime such as trespassing or disorderly conduct or failure to identify, it is an illegal arrest because they don’t have legal jurisdiction to affect arrest on federal property which opens them up to complaints of false arrest and other civil actions.

How in the world is doing something legal and lawful "pushing the envelope" Flawless coplogic there. Is using a cellphone handsfree in your car "pushing the envelope"? Probably is to a LEO. "We got a call. " Ok, and? How about instead of bothering someone obeying the law and doing something perfectly legal, why not educate the ignorant public of their right to do the same? "Ignorance of the law is no excuse" this would be a perfect opportunity to educate and inform the public. Instead of wasting resources by sending a LEO out to talk to someone not breaking the law, why not tell the 911 operator to inform any caller that open carry is perfectly legal and lawful? Need to stop calling them LEO (Law Enforcement Officers) and call them FEO (Feeling Enforcement Officer) or OEO (Opinion Enforcement Officer)
