They want to run your ID to see if you have outstanding warrants or any other reason they can nail you. It's a form of presumption of guilt. Either that or it's old magic - if you know a thing's true name then you can control it and make it serve you.

"A officer may ASK for ID" this is by asking a question and moving on, by repeatedly asking is not just lawfully "asking" but demanding and this is illegal thus a complaint must be filed on the officers record as a infraction of citizens rights

The lack of understanding by police officers of an individual's First Amendment rights is terrifying. As I've watched many, many of these First Amendment Audits over the pasts 12 months, there seems to be two prevailing characteristics on the part of law enforcement. 1) ignorance of the rights of the people; 2) an insatiable need and willingness to dominate the situation. When combined far too many incidents result in situations like George Floyd. Police reform needs to happen. It has to start with the president putting an end to his hateful racist and bigoted rhetoric.

One of two things is true.. either the base owns the property 30 feet out and they have jurisdiction, or they do not own the property out 30 feet and the policy enforcers have jurisdiction.. so if the officer is saying 30 feet out is their jurisdiction, then she has nothing to say to you while in the jurisdiction of the base.. and or the base does not own the property 30 feet out and has no jurisdiction outside their gates, and the corporate policy enforcer has jurisdiction..
