To any magicians concerned that secrets are being exposed to non magicians please be reassured you don't need to worry. As a muggle I watch all Spidey's tutorials firstly because the tricks are amazing and then because it's amazing seeing the skill that you guys have. But without a working knowledge of doing magic the technique tends not to stick in our minds. If you did this trick for me next week I would still be pretty much as amazed as the first time. And in a month I would be back to having no clue at all as to how it's done. X

I thought of a fun way to hide the card at a party... walk up to someone way earlier in the evening and ask them to put the card in their pocket, then have them produce it as the reveal. Your "insider" will have a different experience than the rest of the audience, but still be kinda mind blown since they just watched a person pick that same card "randomly" from the deck.

Between learning from you, Chris Ramsay, and a million card tricks I’ve been able to wow a few of my coworkers and I think this one would be perfect to do a “card to microwave/refrigerator” in the break room and blow their minds
@brennercelegans36893 жыл бұрын
I hope you haven’t done it yet. Freeze some water in the bottom of a plastic box. Take it out and save it. Do it again. Then put the card in between the two blocks with a tiny bit of water. This will freeze the reveal card inside a block of ice. Take the block to work and put it in the break room freezer. They will talk about it for years.

I just learned this! I practiced talking to myself as if I was talking to an audience haha, but when I performed this trick for my parents, they were blown away. Talking to them about the cards and involving them really helped my nerves and I was comfortable with the handling of the cards. Thank you!

I could not agree more, I'm 50 and my parents are my #1 fan especially my late Father who would ask me to do the ACR (Ambitious) and everytime I do it his Jaw would drop and he tells me I should be on TV (folks I'm OK at best) But most of the effects I do are those that Spidy teaches and even though I know it's a lift or a pass it still amazes me and will never get tired of watching these videos. Spidy I want to personally thank you for what you do and for teaching these amazing effects that brought so much joy to my Father especially the latter days of his life and that is priceless. I thank you and I look forward to more upcoming effects. Oh I just bought the Bicycle Vikings deck and it came with a double, a king of hearts and the 2 of spades I believe. James

Two years ago I wanted to be a magician and that's how I discovered your channel, but after seeing so many revealed magic tricks I don't want to know solutions anymore because it spoils the trick for me. It doesn't feel magical anymore after you know the solution. Now I click on most of your videos and I watch just the demonstration and I am amazed at how good these tricks are! Keep it up, Spidey, you're doing a great job!

That actually hurts his channel by lowering his average watch time lol.
@GlennJohnEntertainer3 жыл бұрын
The reason @SpideyHypnosis (and any magic reveal channel) shows how to perform the tricks is to TEACH people who are magicians and wannabe/upcoming magicians. How do you think magicians LEARN THEIR CRAFT? If it wasn't taught, then the trick would die - and so would the Magic Industry. As a spectator, you're getting enjoyment from seeing the trick. But, as the magician, you get enjoyment from the reactions from your spectators instead - because they're amazed by how well you performed the trick. Remember that when you amaze people with your magic skills, that's much more satisfying than seeing how it's done. After your 2 years in magic that you mentioned, it sounds like you were more interested in the reveal than performing magic. Then, YOU need to quit performing magic tricks. Spidey and other magic reveal channels do NOT need your "Lamebrain" comment in threads like this.
@katharineshade95503 жыл бұрын
@@GlennJohnEntertainer That's a bit rough. The guy was just explaining his experience, and this channel helped him work out what he wanted to do/not do. "Lamebrain" is pretty unecessary. Plus you got it wrong - he just wants to watch the performance, he specifically said he didn't want to see the reveal.

Oh yes but when you get fooled it’s wonderful
@warriorpoet81193 жыл бұрын
I know where you are coming from, I am a magician and I love being fooled! I love magic that makes me think, I actually watch the performance and hit pause while I let this register and then I will work out methods that can achieve the same effect “The Method I came up for this trick was not what he used” so I was still fooled even though my method would achieve the end result. At the end of the day what makes new magic exciting for me is simply the method, regardless of how simple it is, I think the methods are often more brilliant than the tricks (Nicholas Lawrence comes to mind - I buy everything he comes up with just to admire his brilliance) :)

Just tried your mentalism card guessing magic trick. Everyone in my family were amazed Thank you❤❤❤
@MagicIncredible2 жыл бұрын
This is an amazing effect. The only issue (and not a big one if you smoothly whip by it), is when you place their actual selected card on the double facer, do a double lift and turn it over, a different card appears to be under the top card. That being said, you are amazing and an incredible teacher. One of the effects that I learned on your channel was the one where you have a spectator simply think of a card as you show them to them and then do an amazing reveal of the thought of card. Thanks for all you do to make me better.
@WTF187SUCKAAA Жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same thing about the card under the double lift how it changed. In his live performance it changed from a Queen of Hearts to a Queen of Diamonds. Maybe it's best is to have a similar looking card on the bottom as the double sided card. If the spectator does have a glance at the card, they might be a little confused on what they saw.

This is a great trick! I especially like the fact that once you have gotten to the point of making the card "disappear," there is no anxiety at all. You can really have fun with the "reveal" and make up all kinds of crazy stories! Thank you!
@katharineshade95503 жыл бұрын
Nice one! The only thing was I noticed how you were holding the cards with your left hand, it just seemed a little awkward, but that's probably because of the camera angle and the actual audience wouldn't have seen. I like watching these videos because I'm fascinated by how my brain feels when it switches from "that was impossible!" to "oh, that makes sense!", and how you just can't go back. For some people, it spoils their enjoyment. But I love it. I also love trying to figure out how people do magic, it's like a puzzle for me.

That's funny, I was thinking how amazing it would be to have it signed in some manner which would be impossible, how ever I thought maybe you could do something similar to Justin Miller's Autograph I believe it was where the date is mis-written on the card, he then scratches it out and corrects it. The card in the wallet gets the same treatment prior to the trick. After turning over the double he could casually write the date on the spectators selection face up, perform the vanish and have it re appear in the wallet with the mis-written date on it. I always thought a signature of some kind really adds to the impossibility of it all. The spectator is left with no where to turn. Great trick, love it! Spidey's the man!

I’ve been doing this for about ten years walk around. The mate to the other side allows you to repeat for another group, and even if someone from the first group peeks in, the selection is different. Pocket management is a premium for walk around, but a couple of doubles take up very little space. The hiding places for the cards is the only thing to remember, but when I’m booked for a gig, I show up early and hide four cards in the flower pots, salt shakers etc. Now I have 4 miracles that will unfold over the course of the gig.

Before I move on to watch the tutorial I have an idea of how this one worked though a few parts are clever, but one part of the routine is extremely clever... the card was being held in the fingertips when it vanished "before their eyes" Spidey mentioned, but it was in fact in their hand when it happened. There had to be a force, but the fairness of that choice being made was flawless, down to the deck being cut by the spectator. This trick is deceptive and I can totally imagine the reactions it gets from people. Mentally trying to step through this one, as usual, can't wait to learn it.

The only possible issue I can see with this trick though is as you're holding that packet of cards in your hand with the double faced on top, when you do the double lift, the spectators may notice the one underneath that you flash is NOT the one that was originally on top (because that one is being lifted along with their chosen card). Most people probably wouldn't pay much attention to the ones in your hand, but that was one thing I did notice when watching the performance.

This would be fun to do on a spouse. You could figure out what pants or maybe a shirt with pockets that you know he/she will be wearing that day. Jeans would be great and you can use a pocket that he/she normally doesn't use to plant the card. Let them wear it all day, maybe at work, and show the trick that evening when he/she comes home. This would truly blow their mind. And if he/she finds the card by chance, you just abort and not do the trick that night, but you can still do the trick a few days later with the wallet version.

You know you could buy a magnetised ring and put a little flat magnet in one of the pocket slits in the wallet and at the end of the trick take your hand and point to the card they're holding and then hover towards the wallet with your fingers widely spread and over it to make it wiggle a little while saying "I just made the card vanish and appear somewhere else, check your card". Hand movement and speed varies according to the power of the magnets in the ring and the wallet. You'll learn that in practice. You could wear the magnetic ring on the ring finger so that it's inconspicuous. Just a little extra step to create a bit of shock that will take the audience's mind off of asking to check the cards at the end for doubles and finding your double sided card.

Great trick Spidey!. Instead of discarding the two cards that match the DF card, I would use one for my reveal in impossible location and I would use the other as the second to last card of the face down deck, right below the DF. That way, when you perform the double turnover of the “selected” card, there is no change to the card on the face of the deck. I think it’s easy enough to conceal when spreading the cards face up in your hands after the spectator cuts off a packet from the top. I just think that someone will easily remember the face up card and notice a change when performing the double turnover since it remains face up for an extended period of time . Just a thought!
@SpideyHypnosis3 жыл бұрын
Yeah. Personally I’ve had people really look through every card when I was done and spread them around out of disbelief so I personally don’t want two of the same card to show at all. But if that works for you great. I don’t worry at all about the discrepancy here because if the time between setting it down and turning it over.
@brennercelegans36893 жыл бұрын
If you are worried about the discrepancies, put the mate second card from bottom. Far fewer will notice a diamond to heart change, and the other face can be another reveal elsewhere/second group at a walk around gig.

OK, this is really strong! I think this could even work OK virtually as well. I have to admit, as a hobbyist, I do not practice my double turn-over enough out of sheer laziness. :) My solution? I cheat. Used a little Science Friction on the double face card, and a double turn-over is easy as pie! One other thing I did (Since I used the King of Hearts/8 of Spades double with the SF on the King), was I placed the King of Diamonds underneath the double-facer so a red King still shows when you turn the card. Really, really awesome Spidey! Thank you so much for sharing! This is the 3rd Spidey trick I will have in my routine! Side note: I just showed my wife Monkey in the Middle last night for the first time and completely blew her away. I just finished showing her this, and when she opened the card box (where I left the card) after seeing me slide the deck out of it at the beginning of the trick, she dropped an "F" bomb. So, really solid trick! :)

Now that's a really good observation!
@MrGroovyman863 жыл бұрын
I understand that the two queens were to hide the change. But to me, it also made the trick more obvious. When he spreads in the beginning of the trick, it stands out that two red queens were on the bottom together, just casual like "huh, what are the chances". Then suddenly when you spread at the end, one of the queens came with the spectators card to the middle of the deck. I think this may work for most casual audiences. But any spectator who is trying to figure it out in real-time will surely notice this.

Great trick. 3 Comments: 1. You can do it with a "Gallery deck by Mark Spelman" - a deck of images, that comes with double facers. With images, I think, it would be even stronger than with playing cards. 2. You can add a prediction element to it - since you're basically forcing a card on them - You can put a picture of card in your Instagram feed as a prediction (You can even say the card disappeared into your Instagram feed...). 3. You can push the 2 cards into the deck, and let the spectator find the facer down card. One question: On the tutorial you've put a black king right after the double facer. Was it on purpose, do disguise the fact the the next card changes during the performance?
