It's very difficult to say which rifle is the best option. But I feel army should try SSS rifles, TAR rifle and even the Ishapur rifle. If they pass validation trials then place orders for same.

@@abhayprasad5319 Trichi rifle is 7.62*39. It's worth a small order, the chances of the enemy is equally high. Even SSS defense although having a small manufacturing should be accommodated to have future growth and potential. With the TAR rifle the the other state and police forces are extremely satisfied. Army is the easiest of the three defenses which can actually go Desi. But it's worst in accommodating Desi stuff. SSS defense Even has a sniper gun, the viper could could a brilliant accommodation. The problem with the Ishapur rifle is the recoil because of the gas mechanism in firing. But every gun in 7.62*51 cal will have high recoil. If a soldier shoots Even with the Ishapur rifle it's more like shoot to kill. Because of the high caliber Even the Sig has a higher recoil and can't be compared with the recoil of even the AK 203.

The best options here would be to manufacture the Galil ACE or P-72. However there may be some problem in mass manufacturing of P-72 as SSS is very new in the field. However they can set up a JV with a more experienced player to manufacture a mass order. Both rifles should be seriously considered as both seem to be better options than AK-203 in terms of price and recoil.

@@riteshgamer7255 dude, on what basis did you predict that AKs have more damage 😹, i mean people are just shitting anything after becoming pubg intellectuals, it's not same as what you would have seen in games, in reality Galil Ace 32 has been proven to be more superior than the Modern AKs including original Soviet ones, and AK203 is not any rocket science with complex mechanism to be more stronger than it's previous models, it's just an AK103 with barrel being pinned instead of being pressed as it's used to be in M and 103 varients. They just added picatiny rails and telescopic stock to it. They are reliable among their league of 7.62*39 mm ARs, but they aren't the best in terms of what you mentioned based on virtual world.

@@ultralegend6067 that's known fact kid, future wars will will compel you to engage targets beyond 300 meters i.e 400-600 meters and AKs cannot do the job, we can't fight tomorrow's war with yesterday's weapon. Yes AKs are undoubtedly reliable but at the same time confined modernity. Even a red dot scope on an AK203 cannot remain accurately 0 because the rail itself is riveted on to the dust cover. If you carry an AK, you are allowing the enemies to come closer upto 300 meters, if you are carrying something like Fn Scar H, Sig 716i, Fn Fal slr or CM901 you can engage targets beyond 800 meters. AKs r good for counter insurgencies but think of conventional wars too.

My favourite is SSS defence 's P 72 series of rifles and Galil Ace series. Well Galil can be said to be Israeli AKM because the internal mechanism is identical to AKM ,AK 203 and INSAS so it will be better suited for Indian army and these Galil Rifles are tested in Indian conditions twice . But still I wish to see SSS defence Rifles in Indian army 's hands

In my view the best option is to Extensively test SSS Defense's latest rifles in Desert & Cold atmosphere & induct them in huge numbers if they came out sufficient enough to match SIG Sauces in the tests till then we can continue with AK-203 since they are cheaper than the SIG . Additional SiG sauces should be only given to the soldiers directly engaded with China on LOC while AK203 & SSS can be given to soldiers on Western side or other soldiers.

We should consider the fact that sig 716i is a heavy caliber rifle and not all soldiers actually need it. While in small squad some soldiers can use this rifle but others can still use good ol aks because the engagement range is not constant in battle. More important than rifles is the need of good and small optics in Indian Army.

One of the reasons for adopting the Sig 716i was the increased range and higher lethality. Since our army operates in a multitude of terrains like mountains, deserts, jungle, and even urban warfare, we will need two different cartridges. The 7.62 NATO is good for long distance engagements, like the ones we might encounter in a war against China & Pakistan in the Himalayas or Pakistan in the Thar desert and flat plains of Punjab. This was noticed in Afghanistan by the US Army where they're switching to the 6.8x51mm for higher armor penetration and range. The 7.62x39 and 5.56x45 are excellent for close quarters combat in Jungles and urban warfare situation; also noticed by the US army in Vietnam. Having one battle rifle and one assault rifle might be better one than replacing all with one type of caliber unlike the US army as this would be a cheaper and less riskier option compared to adopting a new caliber, although this may cause a logistics issue in a full scale war.

Fire power is not everything , with more fire power comes more recoil and weight. The 5.56 *45 mm round is the most accurate with an effective range of 400m. The 7.62*39 has more stopping power but a little less effective range at 300m and higher recoil. The 7.62*51 mm Sig has an effective range of 600m but has higher recoil and the round is heavy and hence comes with a 20 round magazine and is actually a Designated Marksman Rifle not an assualt rifle.

That was an awesome video, But there r some problems with the alternatives you guys suggested, if the question is to replace the insas most alternatives mentioned in the video are very accurate. Whereas the options mentioned that could be the alternative of the Sig are not accurate. The sig fires a big .308 round which got some heavy umph behind it, similar high power cartridges have been used during the 2nd world war... but we saw countries down sizing their main ammo, the reason being easier logistics and improved ballistics of the 5.56 ammo due to improvement in technology. And most importantly the studies which conclusively stated the side which fired more bullets won in overwhelming majority of cases... which stated more fire is important than accurate fire (which is already less as accuracy under battle conditions is under 18%). So it is important to carry more ammo, hence 5.56 n 7.62 became the preferred choice for standard issued rifle. But then we saw the need for heavier firing guns too... the accurate guns that can effectively n comfortable shoot past 400m while maintaining strong ballistics, came in the use of few .308 firing rifles in squad, US army adapted SCAR-H n the marine corp used high quality AR-10s shooting .308, I believe thats the reason for adapting the Sig, in the rocky Himalayan terrain where many engagements r beyond 400m, so any alternative of the Sig that shoots smaller than a .308 is not plausible.

I have little different opinion. Since Sig sauger is 7.62 rifle and government want to replace it then they will do it with 7.62 rifle but you showed some rifle with different caliber. I would include Tavor 7, Galil ACE 52/52L, OFB 7.62 rifle in your list

Galil Ace seems like the more natural replacement. Same cartridge and existing manufacturing setup can definitely help in seamless integration. Also the Galil is an extremely battle proven rifle. The TAR21 seems like a misfit since its in a completely diff category. Btw, any update on the Ishapore 7.62×51 rifle? The CRPF had started inducting it sometime back.

Yeah. Originally Galil was an interpretation of the AK. Its definitely battlr tested and takes in AK mags

Given the range SSS p-72 has better range compared to other rifles and it should be seriously considered. If mass production is the problem then buy the rifle tech from SSS and take manufacturing to Ordinance Factory or form a consortium with SSS to manufacture the rifle. If not SSS we should go for Galil ace thats next best low recoil and good range but we still be dependent on foreign countries.

What we require is an assault rifle which does not jam in war battlefield. Possibly, the rifle manufactured in India should be made with bullets which are compatible with the particular rifle. Indigenous bullets is important.

There is the question about in which part of conflict or in which geographical part the rifle is going to be used in. Standard Assault rifle means it’s versatile and can be used in any battlefield but it won’t be the best. US forces in Middle Eastern desert loves the G3 too much, so they bought some Scar 17s to fill the gap, can be used if the engagement distance was, let’s say 600 metres. We have to get a standard infantry assault rifle in 5.56 or 7.62 intermediate and make sure we have some battle rifles in reserve when needed. US army is moving towards 6.8 remington cartridge as it fills the gap better between a battle rifle and an assault rifle. US future military doctrine is rock solid though, they really are moving in the right direction, one rifle for every soldier, for every situation. One fighter jet for every role. Saves a lot of money and boosts production.

First time I saw your video and felt it not at all researched....fire power and letgality of rifle is best depending on caliber of barrel of Ammo used. It is easily changeable. Actually different barrel sizes by manufacturer are selected depending on doctrine of army of the country.
