PROS:

* Large/sharp Nadir (bottom housing shows)
* Noise Levels (small 1/2.3” sensor, not great in low light)

@@MrZulkar983 No camera can survive underwater without a case even if they're waterproof. ALWAYS bring underwater housing!!!

Thanks a lot. Seems that the stabilization even works underwater. I know that it is really hard to get your object into the viewpoint of the camera. I had a lot videos taken with my Gopro where the fish or me was outside of the video frame. Everything is zoomed underwater. But the Insta 360 hasnt this issue because you are filming everything. So the 360° advantage is underwater even bigger. But I dont like that there is the housing visible and there is a lot of noise going on. Thanks that you are showing this. Some scenes are really awesome like at 6:24.

Thanks for doing this video. I thought I was doing something wrong when I shot my video in the dive case during snorkeling yesterday. I have a better plan to record tomorrow without the bottom of the case getting into the video.

Nice. I was in Kwaj. Are you still there? This popped up in my feed. I have actually been thinking about buying an insta360 for scuba adventures in Guam. The Blacktips are nice. A friend here has one. He mentioned buying a 3D printed Blacktip part from Kwaj. Is that you?

Came to this video as looking at latest dive cases, I used the insta 360x2 for windsurfing in no case and had no water leaks, very important to check and check again the battery cover ect for a good tight fit, Not sure yet if this case will work for on top of water when water gets on dive case lens, I will try rain guard, yes the bottom of this dive case does indeed show on camera footage, I have another dive case that does not, enjoyed watching 😎

Hey hello ! First of all, thank you for the review it was really awesome & nice shots ! Second, I'm wondering ... as I know, the Insta X2 is waterproof by itself, so it doesn't need the case, I think. So, I'm wondering if at that depth you can go without the case, or it is needed anyway?? Thank you in advance.

If you film without the case, since the water contacts the lenses itself, the footage is not sharp. With the underwater house, since there is an airgap, the footage will be sharp.

Another note. I saw a video where a person just had it in a glass of water and water leaked in. I can't trust that that person didn't have ulterior motives in creating that video, but there have been reports of leakages elsewhere that I read. I, for one, will put mine in a glass of water right after opening the package on camera just to have proof it was a manufacturing defect, or not, when I receive mine.

@@huyked well it makes sense ! And I didn't thought on that before. 🤯 I've had mine like from a year now, but never had the guts to put it underwater (just in case 😅). I wanna take it to the sea next summer, so I'm checking the best setup for that. Thanks for the advices and follow up ! 👍

@@MarcoEmm Haha. No problem. I can understand the no guts part. Losing money is no fun. Since you've had it for a year and didn't do the test I'm going to do, I would probably advise you to get the underwater case. Of course test the underwater case without the camera in it first. :D

As an update, I put the camera in a glass of water and had no leakage for all three batteries I bought. I made sure there were no dust specks or hair on the silicone rings around the battery. But then again, this is just a glass of water, not at any depth that would have more water pressure acting upon it.

Hello, congratulations for the channel! I am a biologist and beginner diver. I am going to buy my first waterproof camera. I'm hesitating between a Go Pro Max and an Insta360 X2. Although there are many videos comparing them, I have not found this comparison in a diving context, neither in English, nor in Portuguese, nor in Spanish. What is your opinion? why did you buy an insta360 X2? I really appreciate any help! Thank you very much!

@@herbert8783 I've not bought it yet. I keep searching. But I kind of decided to buy Insta360 X2. I don't have a good reason, I haven't found anyone comparing both in a diving context. But I've noticed that most of the people I follow (like sports influencers and divers) who have beautiful takes, use insta360. So I'm kind of going for the "indirect marketing", knowing that maybe there's a good reason...but maybe it's just a bunch of "curious people" anxious for testing a relatively new equipment. I know that the Insta app is more "sophisticated", that it has a more "pro look", and the Go Pro Max app has a more user-friendly profile. Honestly, after a lot of searching, I've come to the conclusion that both are great equipment, and that it's a matter of taste. Remember to buy a diving case!

@@sarag9462 I really feels like insta360 is a good buy as well, just have not use any 360 camera before, so keep insisting, but videos on KZbin does show that it is a good buy except that it only support full HD video as 5.7K is for full 360 degree, and needs to cut out many pixels.

I have this camera and I went to vacation and I was happy to diving in the ocean but I didn't know that the base of the case is going to be there all the time and you have to set you camera in 90° to avoid the base on your video at the end I got all this base in my videos and my days in the blue beautiful ocean just are in my mind. I don't recommend this camera for diving.
