I’m always curious about other photographer’s favorite tools and resources, so thanks for sharing! I have and love the paperlike screen protector as well and totally agree, Apple Pencil is a must! I don’t really draw but I use it to write on documents and more than anything I use it for editing in Lightroom- even just adjusting sliders is so much easier with the pencil. The combo has made editing overall so much more enjoyable. Thanks again for sharing!

Hey, could you comment on the Paperlike potentially changing the brightness quality of your photos? I’m hoping to get colors as accurate as possible and I‘m afraid if I put a paperlike on the screen, blacks that are very black on the normal screen will look a little grey, for example. Any comments on that?

@jbivphotography4 жыл бұрын
I haven't found it to change the colors at all. It does add a bit of a grain onto the look of the screen but I haven't seen it to be disturbing at all.

John Branch IV Photography not sure if you received your Paperlike v2 yet, but I just got mine in the post and wanted to share that first impressions is really good. I was a bit sceptical as I didn’t want to lose any image quality/luminance for when I’m editing in Lightroom (messing with the actual exposure). I can honestly say is really nice to work on and it doesn’t impact the images in a negative way. In fact - I think it’s even nicer to edit on since it looks and feels like your working on a printed image (somehow). Anyway just wanted to share in case you were still waiting for your and was sceptical like I was. Blessing dude!

@jbivphotography4 жыл бұрын
It’s a hard choice. I love the 11” because its super portable and I can take it with me almost anywhere. But I loose out on the screen real estate. Where as the 12.9” would be great in the screen real estate point but it’s basically the size of a normal laptop. To me personally with the 12.9” at that point I would just get a 13” Macbook Pro.

My man - great looking video! Audio isn't quite there though. This may seem like a small thing, but some more presence in your voice would go a long way. @jbivphotography4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback. I'm using a cheap Rode shotgun but honestly I need to get something better and powered and stop slacking on myself. Because I keep getting a weird buzz from a lot of my audio. Honestly a new shotgun and an outboard audio recorder. I probably should just grab both.

The problem with Lumafusion is that far as I know, it doesn't let you edit off of external storage. It makes you copy it to the internal storage first.

If you need to do all these things to an iPad, just buy a laptop. I had phase where I was doing all these things. And it was just clunky and cumbersome. How can you be into Apple products and not into trackpad gestures? That makes me feel like you are a recent Windows convert. Trackpad support is key to the Apple ecosystem and the trackpad is far superior to the mouse in 13.4.

@jbivphotography4 жыл бұрын
There’s a lot of advantages to iPad. So while I understand it may look pointless and folks should just get a laptop the performance differences are huge because apps are optimized for the iPad making them much faster. I tried getting a MacBook Air and it was SOOO under powered it was useless. Full Lightroom demands too much power and you need a MacBook Pro with decent specs to even run it well. Where as I can have a super portable iPad and run LR CC and it’s blazing fast and cheaper than a MacBook Pro.
