I love that I finally found someone who has content on how to structurally and strategically go from beginner to intermediate. It makes the whole process seem less daunting and like there’s an actual path to take. I love watching people who are already fluent in the language but I always get the feeling of “idk how to get from a to b” when I watch them. Keep up the videos! They’ve been extremely helpful and motivating!

Oh my God. You really are a blessing. Ive been waiting all my life to learn japanese and recently actually started by watching some random japanese learning videos. I was missing a certain structure in my whole approach. But theen I found your channel. You cannot imagine how big of a difference you make with all your efforts and time you spent. So inspiring. Thank you so so so much. You are a godsend. Again, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for everything!

For beginners, if you have access to internet and KZbin, the best way to acquire vocabulary is by translating song lyrics. It is quite easy to find songs on KZbin and the lyrics on the internet. I use Google Translate and some online dictionaries. It is fun, easy and fast. By listening to the songs you can learn correct pronunciation. I am currently studying Swedish and translating one song per day.

Thanks for insight of how to learn Japanse. I think I went trough Japanese from zero 1 and 2 about 10 years ago and learned some phrases but i never used the language after that. Now Im 1 week in Wanikani and found my drive to continue my Japanese learning and trying to find a good way to maintain and combine words, kanji and phrases.

Learning from some kind of frequency based vocabulary resource is very important at the start. You can start to read simple texts after learning a few thousand words, but it really does matter which words those are. The most common 1000 words make up around 75% of a language and the next 9000 words get you to 98-99%, but there are around 1000000 words in total. You could learn 5000 words from the 10000-20000 most common words and not be able to understand even 1% of a text, whereas the 5000 most common words gets you to around 95%. A single word from the top 1000 words that you haven't learned yet might literally be as useful as a couple hundred of the more rare WaniKani words, and there will be quite a few of those since they skip hiragana and katakana words.

Switching from one to the other, forgetting everything and then starting over at page 1 :D Now I have managed to keep doing both for a few month. My Italian is good enough now to read simple short novels which I am super happy about. The Japanese.. I do improve but reading is still a few month away if not more.. What helped me a lot with Italian was a tandem partner (IRL). Big recommendation! Hey, maybe if I remember I can check back on you in a few month or a year :D

Hello.......I have a frustrating experience. Not knowing where to begin or hitting a plateau can feel demoralizing and make it hard to hit the books and study like you know you should…Having friends from other cultures makes me more creative. In fresh ways about space and how people create their own world and environment. It is best way to connect between creative thinking and cross-cultural relationships.

What do you yhink about duolingo and rosetta stone?
@AliviasNook3 жыл бұрын
I’ve never used Rosetta Stone so can’t comment on that. As for Duolingo it’s a good place to gain some familiarity with a new language and pick up vocabulary, but using Duolingo alone isn’t enough to learn a language and I think some people have been misled to believe that it will make them fluent. It’s got lots of great features and is fun and easy to get started with, but you’ll need to combine it with other resources if you want to reach a high level in your target language
