I wouldn’t waste a dime on modifications to the 3.6 engine - Especially if you’re pushing 37’s.. I was in a predicament with my 2016 JK of replacing the camshaft for $3500 plus the 65,000 mile maintenance in which I would be putting close to $5000 into this engine. Instead, I went with an engine swap to a 5.3 gle. It is a complete GAME CHANGER compared to the 3.6 that gives a heavy jeep pushing big tires VERY LITTLE power compared to the 5.3 - especially when going up hills on uneven trails etc.. It was a little pricey upfront but the 5.3 is very cost effective and it’s a great engine/Far more reliable than the stock 3.6.. and it’s now like driving a tank compared to a sedan. I was completely blown away by how much better the drivability is, the acceleration, power, tork, reliability etc. etc. and In the long run this is way more cost effective and a WAY better ride and compared to the amount of money that you will be putting into the 3.6 engine in the long run, ITS Way more reliable and SO WORTH IT AND... With the 5.3, you won’t need to go buy a muffler to make your engine “sound” tough. You’re Engine WILL be tough!
@EarthSurferUSA3 жыл бұрын
I just picked up a used 2013 with the 3.6 in it, my first jeep. I think the 3.6 is a good engine that makes 285hp -300 plus hp (depending on the exhaust), but the power curve is better suited for a light road race car than a Jeep. Sure, it makes 285hp, but at red line,--so the lower rpm torque is soft. I am not doing off roading, (I bought it for short business trips and hauling a small dirt bike trailer), but it is the automatic transmission that I pretty much hate. Actually, I think I hate all the new vehicles.

@@noahpaynenoahgayne7309Yeah, I actually could have gotten it done at the time for about 2900 out the door at a private shop but it was about 2 hours away from me. Plus, I have another two years of warranty that guarantees the dealership’s work. So no complaints.. I love the 5.3 - works absolutely perfect for how I use my jeep. In any case, I am quite sure I won’t be bothered by the negative comments made by some low life gucci clown on KZbin. LOL

My 2015 JKU has a Pedal commander, its nice for having it set to eco mode when I'm just driving around locally but then I can on the fly switch it to city, sport or sport+ when hitting the interstate to help get up to interstate speeds easier because the pedal sensitivity changes and allows you to speed up with less effort.

@Jet.Endlight3 жыл бұрын
@@manilaboy1vic I tried a lot of offroading with mine and no fun it's boring af useless ur actually trying to get to a special location. Jeep is made for street purposes w the side gigs of offroading, towing, music, ect... There is no purpose to the car u can get creative with it and customize it or put it in 4wd 24/7 and beat the shit out of it bc 4wd I guess. A wrangler just like a pick up becomes a multipurposed vehicle. The jks that were used for a lot of offroading become a rust bucket that is hard to sell even w how well they maintain value, and the ones that aren't beaten up have small replacements hear and there but end up being reliable af. What u considered fun is ur opinion end of day his car if he plans to offroad w it or not neither u or I should care... It's not like his car hasn't been off pavement once I'm pretty sure there's a rsn as to y he cares abt it. I wouldn't consider a newer jeep the best investment for a full time offroad vehicle but whatever.

Is a cold air intake really worth it for a jeep (truck/suv)?
@Carries338Lapua4 жыл бұрын
Not the way he has it setup. He is drawing air from the engine compartment making it worse than the factory setup. Because the intake is not drawing from outside the the engine compartment he effectively nullified the benefits from any performance increase from having a cold air intake. But yes, when setup correctly you will see a 2-8 hp increase.

You shouldnt be going down in MPG with a regear. A regear should be saving you gas because now it doesnt take as much to get going and travelling down the highway will also save you gas because your not at a higher rpm
@devlinsemmler823610 ай бұрын
Incorrect. You’ll be revving higher all the time and will burn more fuel, 100% guaranteed you’ll burn more fuel with regear

Don’t waste a penny on those dana 44s! Those axles are absolutely junk. I made this mistake unfortunately. Just get dana 60s and be done with it. I wouldn’t waste my money on one of those “cold air intakes” they don’t make any power in fact they usually cost you power. I wouldn’t mess with a 3.6 these engines are just never going to have the low end torque you want in a jeep. Sure you can put a roots or other positive displacement blower on it and make some, but your engine will blow up if you try to load it up at low rpms. My advice is either do a diesel swap or leave it alone. I drove one with a 4bt Cummins swapped JK and it was amazing. Unfortunately while the rest of the world got a diesel jeep we got screwed, be sure to thank our communist government for that. Trust me I have a 3.8 and that gutless pile of junk has managed to break transfer cases, axles, driveshafts, ect. More power just breaks more stuff faster. Oh and put an atlas transfer case in as soon as the stock pile of shit t case blows up! I also made that mistake and replaced mine twice before upgrading to the Atlas!
