Had to share. I went to Walmart and purchased the 2L pitcher that John discussed in his video. To my surprise, it was on a clearance price of $6 not including the appropriate tax calculation.

I found the Anchor Hocking with a lid at Smart 'N Final for $11 -and bought a set of 3 Cuisinart strainers on Amazon for $13 (but a $6 8" strainer would work) +I can use the strainers for all sorts of things and they have handles so I can hang them on a hook. The largest Cuisinart strainer is 7-7/8" and fits perfectly on the AH -and I have lots of mixing bowls to use for the pulp. The Nama strainer/bowl set looks nice- but the deciding factors for me were: it's plastic (not glass), the shape would not be compatible with most kitchen bowls...and the price is so high. I learn a lot from watching your videos -and they helped me make my decision & I used your discount code when purchasing my J2. Thanks for all of the information you share!

Hey John.... I was going to get that large catch cup and sieve. I already use a glass measuring batter bowl and my mesh strainers. I also have few mesh nut milk bags (from Amazon) that at times I use if I want a really smooth juice. For the price of that extra large container I have an issue paying that price for that, especially I already have the equipment at home.

John thank you so much for this! I was literally looking for an alternative before purchasing the accessories from Nama with my Juicer. Question…would you say getting the sorbet attachment is worth it if I already have a Vitamix? I have the creations model, its older.. I feel that since it does nut butters and sorbets with frozen fruit there wouldn’t be a reason to purchase the sorbet attachment for that over the top price from Nama. Again thank you for ALL you do!!! You are the best there is out there on the subject.
@discountjuicers7 ай бұрын
It really depends. the J2 sorbet attachment makes a much DIFFERENT sorbet or nut butter than the Vitamix will. The Vitamix will add in more air, and oxidize the mixture significantly more due to the 37,000 RPM and multiple blade hits. You may like that texture more or less than the Nama, which makes sorbet and nut butter at 50rpm, which makes a thicker, and less aerated sorbet and nut butter that is not as oxidized, so it will also melt slower but is more "hard pack" than fluffy. I would say review my videos: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oXSYqHR4g6ujja8 where I share the texture in the J2. Also watch kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZqO0goSEqrJ2fdU where I show nut butter in a high-speed blender vs slow juicer, so you can learn the difference. I feel it the sorbet attachment is BENEFICIAL because it does something the Vitamix can't and provides additional functionality to the Nama J2.

Why you never made a comparison with The Angel Juicer . I would like to know the difference between the Angel juicer and the Nama juicer in terms of quality , yielding etc . Thanks
@discountjuicers6 ай бұрын
Long story on Angel. Short version: Sent them $3k for prepayment of juicers 20 years ago. They never send me the juicers. I made a video sharing the story. Instead of sending the juicers, they sent a lawyer after me. No matter how good a machine is, I will not support any juicer that company has business practices I do not agree with. Could you do a video on juicing sugar cane in that juicer? Thanks
@discountjuicers7 ай бұрын
The Nama J2 will NOT juice sugar cane. No slow juicer will juice sugar cane, it will break them. I know because I have tried several times. I only recommend a dedicated sugar cane juicer for juicing sugar cane.

I have to laugh at myself because I use the included Nama Juice container and then pour into my 2 litre Pampered Chef batter bowl lol. When I batch juice, I have enough to fill the 2 litre PCBB and another 1.5 or so litre container. I then pour into smaller bottles.

What do people do with the pulp generally ?
@discountjuicers7 ай бұрын
You can use the pulp for man things, the easiest is to feed other animals, they love it. Some people mix it in with their dog food. You can also use it in baked goods, or use it in stews, you can dehydrate it into crackers, dehydrate it plain, and grind it to turn it into vegetable fiber supplement or just feed it to your worms or compost pile.
