We were in Kanpur for 2 years when my husband got transferred there I must say I miss bun makhan n chach as breakfast, samosa ( you can get it in every nook n corner ) banarsi ke ladoo, and various other street food If the place becomes clean it’s a nice city to stay

The honey flavored freshly churned makhan on bun, was not just palatable, but also a good morning start... along wth the 'dum daar' chai... The best was to see the batashe being served, wth different fillings... the tikki chaat in making... (with all the details of ingredients)... n the paan at the end... The aaloo singhara tastes better and cannot be compared to the samosas today... also, to talk of the food culture today, yes, it definitely is somewhere intermediary between the traditional nd the modern approach, which can be blended well to savour the benefits of both.
