Glad you gave Hurricane an award. I was pressured into buying an Eddyline when I went to get my clearance sale Hurricane by a salesperson who told me Hurricanes were junk. I'd disagree! I'm hard on kayaks and felt better roughing up a $1200 model instead of a 2K kayak. My Osprey 120 is very comfortable and has the same bottom as the one you've shown here. I've dragged it over concrete, rocks, etc. and yes, it's got scratches but it's the feeling that I don't have to baby it which makes me happy. It's a light, efficient kayak. My next one will be a 14' Eddyline once I'm out of my teenage years of paddling (I'm a newly intermediate, year 3 paddler now) but the Hurricane has served me well, and my actual teen sons as well. Thanks for the reviews, Ken.

Cool to hear it's held up to that much wear and tear. That's one thing I can't effectively test, and so I love hearing from people have have tested boats long-term durability.

Glad to see the Hurricane Prima award. I started kayak fishing in 2005 with a Hurricane Phoenix 140 and in 2019 got a Hurricane Skimmer 128. These are sit on tops, much better for fishing or clamming, and virtually all the other comments for the Prima would "fit." If I ever need another yak (I am 73) it will be still another Hurricane.

Hi Ken, Thanks for the reviews, and based on your comments I did go out and get a Primus Lite Plus Camp Stove. Having said that, I am squeezed for room and you did mention being game to test boats. Inflatable boats come to mind and the three boats I am interested in (with different trips in mind) are from Europe. For Canoes - 1) Grabner "Adventure Expedition," and 2) Grabner "Outside." For Kayaks 3) Gumotex "Seashine." As you mention, I'll send a note to the manufacturers, and hopefully it works in releasing a boat or two.

Fair warning! Black bears in the Adirondacks have learned to get into the blue barrels. You need metal or composite here. Testing has not been done on the Kevlar bags here yet.

Nice video. Thanks. I hesitate to change any gear I use and like. My PFD is getting old. I will be looking at NRS. They keep improving their stuff. I have been impressed and the have convinced me to start using their dry suits. I am going straight to the NRS website now to check out their pfds and hydration packs.
