You need to use clean water…discovered if you use bottled water or reverse osmosis water this will never happen..lasts along time..this happened to me on my first machine…

Why can’t you use distilled water?

Because the water needs minerals in it so the coffee makers can detect that there is water in the reservoir , they have sensors in them that help them detect how much water they brewed and it helps to extract the delicious flavors from your coffee grounds... distilled water would make your coffee taste flat and not very good and the keurig would have a difficult time trying to function.
