After effects might benchmark better and render better on a Mac but in actually video editing laptops with dedicated Nvidia gpus actually do playback infinitely better . Because they are video cards and help with smoother playback . I'll say anyone heavy into after effects should get a laptop with a dedicated graphics card. Smoother playback at full quality is much better than saving a few minutes to render the video.

Of course you can lol. Though some gaming laptops might sacrifice things like colour accuracy, resolution and brightness, etc for higher refresh rates. But can you still use one for AE? Yes.

Hey man, I'm torn between Asus vivobook pro 15 oled and HP victus. I will use it a lot in Adobe PS, Illustrator and AE with a little bit of valorant and other FPS hero shooter. What's ur opinion? Also they say that oled display minimizes eye strain but with vivobook 15 oled has only 60hz refresh rate :(

I got the Asus ZenBook Pro 3080 and the battery over heated 6 hours later when I started editing and died. Looked at other reviews and a bunch of people have said they received lemons as well. @@majdm6281 yes I know but that’s all I could afford at the time. I mean in todays time why would any computer not be able to handle AE and Premiere Pro. It should be a standard on computers over $1000. It’s ridiculous $1700 and can’t handle AE and suppose to be a gaming laptop but it sucks when I play CoD. I’ll build my own computers from here on out!

i use a mac with 8gb ram (desktop version) and it runs but not very well. you have to have the playback in quarter the whole time and it struggles to render certain things.

No, one channel is soldered with 8GB. So the max upgrade is adding a 32GB stick to give you 40GB of RAM.
