@@KnockOffBeingFat First, learn how to spell the man’s name. The comparison is apples to chainsaws. Butkus is the greatest middle linebacker, but LT is the greatest defensive player to ever step on a football field. Butkus couldn’t run with Taylor if he had jets on his shoes. Not even close to going at the same speed. Butkus was a mauler. LT was a missle.

I'm a WFT fan but IMO LT was hands down the greatest defensive player to ever play the game. He'd line up over the middle, on the end with his hand in the dirt, drop back in coverage sometimes - the guy was all over the place and you couldn't stop him. We would have probably been in more Super Bowls back then had it not been for him. He was that dominant in games. The Giants wouldn't have had the same level of success without him. He was that good.

VA represent (if you don’t know, now you know). Never was a Giants fan but I had to respect that NYG defense that was anchored by LT

I remember Cam Newton had his little Superman shtick... as we all know Cam never really measured up to the Superman thing. However, in the '86 Super Bowl run of the Giants, Taylor used to mess around during practice in a Superman jersey, complete with cape. There was only one Superman in the NFL and that was LT.

I forget the year when the Giants played the Saints and Mr. Taylor dislocated his shoulder and set an example for ALL of us by demonstrating the power of WILL, the Determination of “True Grit, The Toughness of a body, the Mental capacity of Durability, the Gladiator Courage DO or DIE, and down to Earth PURE Guts that only we Human's possess. I've experienced a dislocated shoulder and CAN NOT imagine the discomfort this man experienced.
