Fun fact - pandemonium does direct damage to enemy weapons. Meaning you can break their weapons without perfect guarding, or perfect guarding very little.

That's cool, the problem with Pandemonium for me is that it's extremely hard to keep bosses in the same place so they take enough damage for that to happen unless you spray a very large area of the floor with acid, I just feel that Deus Ex is far more efficient and effective in dealing with bosses specially that it builds up stagger damage.

As long as you can shoot the puppet string you can do the slam attack, which means when you run out of legion, you charge enough legion in 12-15 seconds to do a slam attack, with "reduce legion arm cost in crisis" it's even faster if you're low on HP. against bosses that have low-ish attacks that can't hit you mid-air, you will SHRED them with this strat.

I gotta punch back about Deus Ex Machina, that thing *carried* me through NG+ once I started messing with it when it was fully upgraded. Set up a bomb while a boss is being passive, set up two while you have a knockdown. Set up a few then ping a miniboss or elite you *know* will charge at you before they blow up. Getting a free 5000 damage out of the gate is *nothing* to sneeze at, and being able to pepper in 1200 damage shots that do noticeable stagger damage is nutso. Maybe it's something for the bottom of the list but still, it's a fantastic tool if your style can adopt it.

I had a lot of success with the fully upgraded Deus Ex Machina. IMO you must’ve been using it weirdly if you struggled to hit enemies and get value out of it. Just plop a few mines down before fighting a tough enemy or two and then lure them into it. It deals a fat chunk of damage and virtually always staggers them and gives a free opportunity to do a charged heavy attack into a full posture break and fatal attack if they’re not already dead. Makes going through the late game areas substantially easier.

I agree the puppet string is super good but I actually stopped using it for fully upgraded pandemonium in NG+. People really undervalue it and I’m surprised it was rated so low. The fact that you can use it without ever putting yourself in an unsafe position and that every single level is basically made of hallways makes it super underrated imo and it does insane damage with scaling and the amulet. It will also stagger enemies with the explosion when upgraded. Also extra damage to humans does not mean it does low damage to other enemies, it will melt puppets and even undead pretty effectively to point where I think it took 2 casts to kill puppet of the future bosses on NG+ while I watched from a distance. Also feels free to use with upgrades since it will regenerate all legion cost over duration with like 1 kill. Also it stacks, can layer pools and have a chain explosion that will keep you safe for a few seconds which is actually a really long time with these games

Puppet String max upgraded is amazing with a strong Motivity weapon that has a defensive fable art handle (Absolute Defense or Endure). Most enemies gets mini-staggered or plain knocked down after a Puppet String follow-up, after which you charge attack or two to fully stagger them (element enchant beforehand for BIG damage and debuff proc). Combine with max consumables and auto-recharge legion/legion magazine P-organs, and you can spam them on opening pretty much against any boss, and trivializes them whatever NG cycle you are at.

One thing that I feel maybe people dont notice too much is the speed at which you can act after using an arm ability. lots of the legion arms have long endlag animations, or to dodge you must cancel out before the arm attack goes off, however the flamberge, because of the way it uses a bunch of small quick fire damage ticks, has very little endlag and allows the player to dodge pretty seamlessly in combat without sacrificing much damage output. This also makes it great to supplement weapon combos once you run out of stamina since legion arm attacks dont cost any.
@juanhurtado7244 Жыл бұрын

The follow up is nice and does a lot of stagger damage and can stance break. Not a huge fan of the puppet string best skill. It’s too anime for me and everyone seems to use it. I’ll stick with my shield it compliments my aggressive playstyle very much

My first run-through, I wound up using the Pandemonium the most. While it certainly has plenty of drawbacks, it is unbelievably good against slower, heavier enemies. Most notably the double-shield puppets from the Exhibition. (And the one at Venigni) You can also work around it a little by forcing enemies to engage you onto the acid pools. This can even work against the final boss IF you can get your parries right, as they will cause an immediate, long-lasting stagger. Also, Pandemonium does a surprising amount of stagger damage, too.

@adambrown6669 Жыл бұрын
If you get the P-organ upgrades for regaining legion on kills and the passive over time charge flamberge quickly becomes the best option as it can kill most standard enemies with less legion than you regain, and as you don't need to kill with the legion arm to regain the legion, just using it to inflict the debuff without worry about running out of throwables it is truly incredible. The overheat explosive knocks most enemies over and inflicts overheat, and as you can fire while the enemy is standing back up you can essentially bully the enemy preventing them from doing anything. I'd say that it is the best overall, then there's the aegis, falcon eyes, pandemonium, string and so on. Because range is infinitely preferable as a supplement to your main weapon that is close range.

Yeah, I'd say Puppet String is the best by far. Especially when combined with a strong motivity weapon, your jump attacks will be dealing like 2K damage and deal a ton of stagger damage. Cost is also extremely cheap if you just want to pull some enemies towards you and with a few upgrades to recover some legion energy you won't have to worry about running out. Legion arm is also extremely good against small enemies that are kinda unpredictable or hard to time/space attacks for. Just pull them in and kill them and they won't have a chance to damage you because whatever attack they're doing is canceled and it takes them a second or a few seconds to actually get an attack out after being pulled. Falcon Arm could have been more useful, but my main problem with it is the cost. I could shoot a grand total of about 4 bullets with it before it needed replenishing. It is a shame the rest of the legion arms are so bad though. They can be useful in some situations, but... outside of those specific cases they just suck.

@@akiraangelfire2127 For every single regular enemy there's tons of safe opportunities to use this, including every mini-boss. There are some bosses that this can be tricky to use on like the 2nd bunny gang battle, but overal there are very few enemies/bosses where this isn't very efficient for. And the hitbox is pretty broad so any enemy standing next to the enemy you're hitting or right behind it is going to get hit for just as much damage (but with multiple enemies it can be a bit of a pain if enemies jump in front of the targeted one and stuff). Nameless Puppet is a bit of a mixed bag. He is so fast that it is somewhat RNG-ish, but there are still good moments where you have a high chance of scoring a hit with it and the damage is pretty insane. Shield is easily the best for this boss, but I'd still rank Puppet String as a close 2nd even if it's a bit RNG with the hits because the damage is massive (since the boss has a rather small health pool).

I STRONGLY disagree about Deus ex Machina. Fully upgraded does roughly charged R2 dmg, and a metric fuckton of stagger. 2 charges by themselves are nearly capable of bringing a boss to stagger state, and interrupt like crazy. ....AND IT CAUSES STAGGER. This is godlike for slow weapons How do you use it? 1- Pair it with heavy ass shite, completely useless with fast or quality builds, you need the t h i c c 2 - leave it on the floor as the boss gets away from you. THe bastard will have to come at some point and you're too fat to chase that so let him come. 3- Time the explosion with some nice combo. Once you understand how to use you understand that the explosion plus an R1 or R2 will most likely interrupt and lead into a free followup, meaning usually almost instant staggerable state. Some times the R2 charged follow up will stagger on its own. 4- Most times a charged R2 will take too long to hit, meaning you miss out on juicy staggers. Not with this bad boy. You see your opponent in white, you place it on the ground, and you charge and time the shit out of an R2, knowing once he enters the zone he will blow up, leading to stagger, leading to guaranteed R2 and depending on the weapon an additional R2 and fatal. Then run up, place another charge, and R2 again. This whole simple combo is about 40 to 50% of the HP of the boss. Sometimes more. And it's so guaranteed it's incredible. Bottom line, DeM is amazing with heavy mot builds

The Left Arm of Steel can also break through guarding enemies, just another consideration for using it at certain areas/mini-boss fights or those shielded puppets (one at venigni factory, and around two at grand exhibition). sometimes you won't get the full use of legion arms due to the legion gauge, which can be maintained quite easily if you've invested a bit on Capacity and Advance, while taking some p-organ upgrades. i.e. legion gauge auto regen, legion gauge regen when using pulse cells (new game plus), regenerate legion gauge when killing an enemy, don't choose the increase legion magazine charge increase.

Given that the elite enemies in this game are absurdly strong, the puppet string is literally their eliminator. With appropriate upgrades on P-organ, I simply equip with a motivity weapon, use the fully upgraded puppet string, followed by a charge attack. Most enemies will be staggered. Before giving a fatal attack, I normally give another charge attack first. And then after the fatal attack, if the enemy is still not dead, I will give it another charge attack before it can get up. This can easily destroy most elite enemies.

I didnt use the legion arm much on NG, however, on NG+2, I have over 100 magazines, really good legion recharge on kill, and a giant bar from upgrading my capacity for heavy frame parts.

Since the puppet string has you go into the air, you end up dodging attacks as well. I prefer aegis because my brain can't handle using a weapon to block, let alone using the bumper instead of the trigger. I knew the puppet string was good, though I didn't think it was that good.

I kind of judge legion arms by how much they interrupt your own attacks. For example, while flamberge and fulminis do great damage, you are not actively attacking while using them, which means there's a tradeoff in damage. Arms like pandemonium and deus ex machina still do have opportunity costs, but they only take a bit of set up and you can freely attack afterwards. Instead of a tradeoff, they feel more like additions to your own damage. Falconeye is OK in that with dodge shots it doesn't interrupt you too much, and aegis feels superfluous if you are comfortable with deflecting/parrying everything. Puppet string is definitely unique and it's often more of a tool than a damage dealer.

I went through my playthrough mostly using the flamberge and electric legion arm cause 95% of enemies are weak to both and no the dagger does not build up fire damage or do more then the flame cause a constant stream of fire compared to a short buff on a weapon makes a huge difference in comparison

Aegis is the most broken legion arm by far vs bosses. U become indestructible machine. Struggled vs namesless, puppet upgraded aegis swapped it and beat it in 2 tries with 2 pulse uses.

acid is best against puppets with a advanced build . put 50 in tech ,11 in adv and use throw ables combine with legion arm and boom you defeat almost any boss with this method.

Arm of steel is decent purely due it's low weight. You can use it as *_faster_* attack if you're going motivity build with slow heavy weapons. Fulminis is my the most favourite one. In motivity focus with slow weapon you can weave it's non charged attack in between certain boss attacks. You can reliably charged it in fatal attacks windows. Debuff is cool too. Falcon eyes - My 2nd favourite. Deals a lot of dmg. Later it's shines due dodge attack allowing for more flexibility and faster use. Shame that aiming part of using this arm requires you to stand still which is jarring in technique (dex) builds. As advance maneuver you can use base attack to dodge certain attacks since shooting will cause you to backstep a bit.

I get legion mater back from killing enemies they also have a constant regen perk so pair those both up and you’ll always have legion meter to burn

Nameless Puppet is made Ezmode with Aegis and the spear from the cathedral boss. You should be investing in Capacity to up your carry weight anyway, which also ups your Legion. This combo turns some of the most annoying bosses in the game into, well a bit of a joke. Couple Aegis with Puppet String arm (both maxed out) and the whole game is a cake walk.

Man to list deus ex machina as the last lol I used that thing on the last three final boss and I gotta say its very useful getting two or all three planted for initial damage and stagger

Buffs that would help the less busted legion arms: -Deus: Yeah, sure, just double radius and damage. It's so slow and requires positioning anyway. -Steel: Just make it nearly free so full meme legion arm only/punch only runs can work. -Pandemonium: Level 2 or 3 should slow enemies by a lot, and also increase explosion damage and acid proc buildup -Flamberge: Increase explosion damage and radius, increase fire proc buildup -Fulminis: A bit more range, especially on the sparks. Or even only on the sparks. Maybe slightly faster or more potent charges to disincentivize just spamming uncharged. Falcon Eyes slightly less recoil or startup time or both on the standing fire, because falling off a ledge while using it and/or just getting whacked is really dumb.

I understand why Deus Ex Machina was ranked so low, but it's more of a set up tool. It's not meant to be used during combat. However, that's also why I didn't really use it. I prefer to be in combat as soon as possible, so s set up tool isn't really for me. That said, I would definitely rank Eagle Eyes higher than Puppet String for one reason: Consistency. There are some circumstances where I wanted to puppet string myself to an enemy for a punish, but there must have been some sort of trigger or coding that made me unable to do so. Whether it's because of some special attack, coding, or whatever, there are times I want to punish an enemy that left itself wide open, but puppet string didn't let me drag my self over. Eagle Eyes, fully upgraded, allows me to hard punish these moments more consistently because I've never seen a situation where the missile doesn't stick. It does great damage, even with a balanced build, and it a great and safe way to punish enemies for using attacks you'd rather not get close to. So to me, Eagle Eyes would be 1, Puppet String 2.

Falcon Eyes is godly. also, the word “Aegis” is actually pronounced “EE-jiss,” but no one pronounces greek based words with an “AE” in them correctly, so “Ay-jiss” is fine. wrong, but fine, in that most won’t know that it’s incorrect and those that do won’t criticize it unless you make a point out of not knowing how to say it. (For instance everyone pronounces the name “Aesop” as “ay-SOP,” but it’s actually “ee-SOP.” and it’s the opposite for greek words with an “EA,” that would be the “ay” sound.”) if you don’t know how to pronounce a words, simply using any search engine for its definition should have the option to hear a basic ai voice saying the word out loud. pretty handy actually. anyhoo, it means “protection.” fairly apt, considering the arm is a shield. 🤷♂️

I would LOVE to have this game. However, the block headed creators practice exclusion, not inclusion. They have a ''one size fits all'' mentality and there is no way to adjust difficulty. The game was SO HARD...that it just turned me off. There is no fun in that. Sad, so many fascists in the games industry now.

0:39 I'm not sure how you played the game multiple times and still don't realize that there are plenty of upgrades for Legion Arms that make them usable 100% of the time through the levels (killing enemy restores Legion bar) as well as during boss fights (increasing number of consumables and Legion auto-regen) ... I have been using them all the time in NG+ and NG++ and they destory most enemies and bosses way faster than any weapon can. 1:43 I think you are doing something horribly wrong because It's very easy to destory bosses and groups of regular enemies with Deus Ex, it deals tons of damage if you are a Motivity build, flinches most enemies and bosses with one or two explosions and also builds up stagger for Fatal attacks, it's the most OP arm after Puppet String.

Yep. Deus ex machina is insanely good. I can understand that it might not be ones cup of tea due to the fact that you need to set it up vs instant effect of the others arms but ranking it below the regular arm is dumb lol
