Any brand will provide as a kit lens with a f/2.8 or less or even less than f/3.5 because price will increase as the size of the lens and the packaging and to logístic cost, and the sales for 24-70mm or any other lens will decrease because with a 20-60mm f/2.8 the most of the People won't need to buy a Secundarios lens. I could work with a lens like this and probably buy a other one Just will be for more angle or for more bokeh or maybe thinking in a zoom to other options.

the 20-60 and the 12-60 (mft non leica) are some of the best kit lenses of all the other brands. They are sharp enough, lightweight weather sealed, decently built. Just excellent kit lenses. And as you mentioned yes, they do allow you to make some money with them!

I love the 24-105mm f/4 lens and use it all the time. It is also parfocal. It has a great range and isn't clinically sharp for shooting video. I own the 16-35mm Panasonic lens and use it mainly for video also.I have the primes and like how light weight and all being the same size. I'm looking at getting two S5IIX's as second & third body's for filming and photography. I will then have the S1H rigged out with my ninja and v-mount battery solely for filming. I do get tired of having to pull everything off that camera when ever I have photoshoots.

I love the S primes for gimbal work. Since they are almost similar in size, I don’t have to rebalance when I switch out lenses!

From my 2 years experience with S5 (same as S5 II). 16-28 is the true great all around lenses (mostly have it all time , for content gimbal shots). I have also my 24 F2. (perfect for gimbal shots). If you want a good 85 mm (lumix 1.8 is great/lightweight if you mostly use for videography ) but the sigma 85 1.4 is better in all way. I used my sigma 35 & 50 1.4 art lens (CANON ) wich produced really nice images great for videography & photos. My most unused but still my favourite looking (35 MM T2.1 MEIKE) I've bought it for his character but it's huge and Manual so mostly when i'm trying tosave space for travel its the first one I don't pick. (despite I love his soft character very cinematic looking). The best things with S5 I II IIX . is theire vintage adaptation. You can pick any inexpensive vintage lenses and truly get out with something special. Since pair with the best stabilized full frame in the business. I end up using some 200 f4 fd or even 300 fd f 4/ (wich I paid 30 € and 50 for the others) And they are tiny so a great way to have a good telephoto on location. (+ had a vintage character perfect for documentary). So FD 50 mm 1.4( i love the flare it producte) is insane on this one you should guy check it or 28 mm FD 2.8.

Great overview. Very, very informative! I have the 50 and 35 Lumix 1.8 and am considering the sigma 16-28 to cover the wide angle range. I am just wondering if color rendition is similar between the the sigma and the Lumix lens, ie., do you find it difficult to match them when editing? Great short resume, thanks for doing this! I cannot help but disagree with one point in your review. The 20-60mm kit lens is a sleeper lens . Sure it's not gonna win any awards for the design, BUT if you treat it like a 20mm F3.5 prime and 26mm f4.0 almost-Macro (0.43x magnification + more with an inexpensive extension tube(s))... it's an awesome proposal and way better than many other kit lenses. It is a tremendous value! Pair it with the 85 & 50mm 1,8 primes and you have a super lightweight setup that can get you 95,33% of the shots (taking into account the APS-C crop mode capable S5 series that turns this whole range from 20mm (FF) up to 127,5mm (Crop). @@HustlHub.Community the prime 50mm 1.8 lens gives you that extra options for very little additional money. It will separate background from the subject much more that the kit lens @50mm due to the shallower depth of field (f-stop 1.8 vs 5.3 on the kit, I believe). Due to that it will also look more ''cinematic'' and the prime 50mm is also a bit better lens in sharpness and detail especially when stopped down a bit, to f2.8 or more. 50mm on full frame, for me, is just about perfect for so many uses that I feel I could shoot a lot of materials just with that focal length, so it feels it's a no brainer investment :-)

I have all the primes but the 24mm. The Laowa 90mm 2x macro is reallllly fun and super sharp with virtually no chromatic aberrations. Also just got the sigma 150 - 600 and it is my favourite lens right now. Just has some trouble focusing and at times I can't use the manual focus in AF modes.

I'm picking up with S5ii X This week. I need a lens to film workouts in my garage. I only have about 10-12 feet of space between the camera and two people on camera. When I had a Canon 70d I used a 10-18 efs wide-angle lens to film. What's a good option that's similar to that for the S5ii X. Also, a lens option for shooting cooking videos in the kitchen? I agree with most of this. The kit lens is by a distance the best I've seen. You could easily shoot very decent looking video with that, I got the 50mm S prime bundled with the camera but sold it immediately because I found it really anodyne and lacking in character. I have both the Sigma contemporary and they're just outrageously good for the money 24 would be great at the wide end of the medium zoom, but that would probably kill its bigger brother's market and its own light weight. i also have the 70-200 F4 and I like the images but I've having substantial problems with focus hunting, I don't know how common that is? The Sirui is super interesting. Even more so when it's a set. Thanks for the video.

I have the 24-70 f2.8 sigma and the 70-200 f4 from Lumix. I really want a f1.4 prime for portraits. But also doubting to go for a 1.8 lumix prime for better autofocus with my original S5. I notice that my lumix lens has much better video autofocus then the Sigma lens...

As i usually record with light enough, i'm using Lumix 16-35 f4 for video, for events i usually use 24-105 f4 and for ecommerce and portrait Lumix 85mm f1.8... I like also night photography with milky way or full moon so i like 24mm f1.8 and Sigma 100-400

Im still using sigma 18-35 1.8, yes it is aps-c but at 35mm covers full frame and gives me that 1.8. And as I shoot lots of 60fps I am shooting aps c anyway, so the good old 18-35 makes sense
