The most useful video on gh4 lenses I have ever watched. And I've been watching for a year. Bless you.

I've been using the 7-14mm for several years now and it's a most useful wide angle for tight spots.

When I got my GH2 (some years ago!) I got it with the Panasonic 14-140 zoom. A great lens but a little bit heavy. Shortly after getting this I also got a (second hand) 14mm F2.5 which has become my default general purpose lens. Am thinking about a GH5, but will be body only as these two lenses really do cover so much of my needs.

My 12-35 stays on my camera and I have a Laowa 7.5 f2 in the bag - I mostly use the 7.5 for macro shots, but it also works great for real estate shots.

This suit...outrageous. GH5 looked so sexy when I saw it at a convention...still concerned on that 3/4s though.
@thegadgetdude7 жыл бұрын
+DirectorToby the suit went down well on stage at graduation I have to say. There's a lot of great factors of M4/3 is you don't need super duper nighttime low light. I still love the image from super35 sensors like the Sony's I use at work.
@lookingthat38557 жыл бұрын
3/4 is not a great bottleneck if you are skilled to film...guys like Yuri Palma (Gh4) and Brandon Li (A7SII) have delivered masterpieces with M4/3.

Hello, I'm considering buying 25mm 1.7 or 20mm 1.7, which one do you think is better for filming with GH4?
@thegadgetdude7 жыл бұрын
I only went for the 20mm 1.7 because it was a little wider and i wanted a pancake lens that would fit in my pocket when on my GM1. The 25mm is a great alternative because its got quicker focus and it's much cheaper new!

yes! they're all micro four thirds native lenses which means the all autofocus as they should and work great for pics too.

which ones that you went over would be good for weddings shoots?
@thegadgetdude7 жыл бұрын
definitely the 12-35mm 2.8, still good for relative low light, close focusing, and IS to stablise and versatile range. The 45mm 1.8 will give you some nice low light and blurry background though (but no IS except for in body).

Hello, for 3 years travelling with the GH4 + Metabones I have been using the Canon 17-55mm f2.8EF lens, why? I have no idea. Nobody else seems to be using it? So I am looking for an upgrade. Something with a similar focal length, ideally with OIS, super fast (less than 2.0) and unreal quality. Does such a lens exist? If I cut myself off from 35mm, I won't have anything between 35mm and 70mm to shoot with. Right now have Tokina 11-16mm, Canon 17-55mm, Canon 70-200mm so all bases are covered... just nobody is using the 17-55mm, only me?

Very bad idea to buy Panasonic or any mft lenses for video. Better to use metabones speedbooster x0.64 and EF lenses like Sigma 18-35 f1.8 or Sigma 50-100 f1.8...
@Nuanda19887 жыл бұрын
why
@gimiked86856 жыл бұрын
it kinda fixes the low light problem the MFT camera's have with an extra stop of light with the speed booster. And the sigma lens he mentioned is super sharp doing 4k and downsizing to 1080p. It is a go to lens for video. I own the 12-35 panny lens as well though and it is a great lens. You will just have problems in low light in some cases and use higher iso's. Speed booster is magic.
@Andy588tt6 жыл бұрын
speed booster x0.64 and the EF lenses like Sigma 18-35 f1.8 is nice but very heavy and long and you cannot wind it completely in as you get vignetting and if you use the inbuilt flash on the gh4 a shadow will be cast in front of the subject because the lens and speed booster are so long.

This was shot in a well lit room with soft boxes, and I shot it on the standard picture profile on the GH4. With plenty of light i can keep the ISO pretty low, most of these shots were at 200iso/400iso.
