Ive been using pCloud for around 6 years and couldn't be happier. The fact it's almost the same on Linux as Windows was a big selling point for me. The only problem I've had is the downloads are capped (to lazy to lookup how much), but I've only hit that wall once.

I prefer pCloud to Dropbox as you can have different sorting for each folder and use finder or explorer to access drive and upload even with online only storage.

What if I need only a cloud based backup of the family media archive (photos and videos) from my home NAS/private cloud? How about AWS S3 own setup, using e.g. Glacier service, Retention Polices, etc. I mean I don't really need to be able to watch or play anything from it. Just an external, physically separated backup of most important stuff (3-2-1 principle). To have online access to photos & videos I will use home NAS.

Unless they properly schedule their closure and announce it in advance (which is unlikely), yes you'll lose your data. This is why I have 2 lifetime plans, with Pcloud and Internxt, and I store everything on both. So I have some redundancy, if either company goes down I still have the other.
