Yey, it's Saturday. I always forget what day it is when I wake up and it's not until I see your notification that I know it's Saturday coffee in bed with Caroline time! I've been watching alot of Victoria Wood lately. She's always been my favorite comedian and I still cry whenever I remember that she's not with us anymore. She made a drama about a housewife in WW2 called 'Housewife, 49'. If you're a Vistoria Wood fan I would highly recommend. Have a lovely sunny weekend Caroline. I always think of you when the sun's out. Unfortunately I can't enjoy the sun as I've been photosensitive all my life. It's a choice between wearing thick zinc total sunblock and covering up or staying indoors. I went out to put up a couple of outdoor lights and ended up chatting to a neighbour yesterday. The sun was out, but it didn't feel too high in UV and I was mostly in the shade so I thought nothing of it. I woke up this morning with a throbbing pink and blistered face and sunstroke lol. Oh the joys. The upside is I've got the skin of a 25 year old in my 50's. We can't have it all I suppose. Ta ta for noo x

Anything that goes on lips immediately catches my attention, so thank you Caroline 🤩 I love Max Factor and I have six or seven different shades - pink brandy turns a bit too orangy on my lips, so I usually go for cooler blueish tones (blueish? 🤔😅). But that Bisou Balm struck me and I definitely choose that as a new entry in my lip collection, so beautiful ❤ At 61 I think a lightweight lip tint is more flattering and easy to wear, at least it is for me 😊 See you next saturday, hugs from Italy ( btw, it's freezing cold here, January weather 🥶)

Hi Caroline. All those glorious colours!!This was a fantastic video with lots of helpful tips. My favourite lipstick is anything in the orange or orange red range. I have very thin lips so it takes a bit of doing when i wear those colours that my lips dont disappear. I absolutely love the Tom Ford Lipstick in the colour Wild Ginger! Been wearing it for years now and dread when its discontinued as its quite hard to get a good orangey red that isnt too cool. Another colour I found a few years back was from the brand Pixi...its their lip and cheek stick in the colour Juicy! I absolutely adore the colour and Im just sorry they dont sell it in a lipstick form as its a pain in the arse to have to lug around this bulky stick. I made my life easier the other day by cutting half of it off and putting it into a little pot to make it easier to carry around in my bag...along with my handy dandy little travel lip brush that has a cover so its not all over the entire makeup bag. I dont know if you have done it before ( I cant remember and too lazy to scroll through dozens of videos) but could you do a video on handy tips for overlining lips for us girls who are less well endowed in the lip department. I prefer a sheer wash of colour on my lips but usually use a lip liner to line and fill in my lips. It was very interesting to see the different textures and the best way to apply them. I bought the by Terry hyaluronic powder. Mini travel compact in translucent. It's like magic. I'm sure it will last ages. The size of say my Laura mercier loose powder ... Frankly I'll never use it all. This by Terry product is amazing at blurring. I do think a coloured one might be more useful for me than translucent. Just love that mini size

So many wonderful tips this weekend Caroline. I’ve been using Max Factor’s Pink Brandy for a few summers now after a recommendation by you.I love it. I couldn’t wait to wear the Hourglass “Mist” so that was purchased while watching you. I’ve never been able to confidently wear red lipsticks because my lips are so small. I do feel more confident in peach and watermelon shades. I absolutely love the Armani lippy so I’m off to order that one. Oh deary me😂 I use the By Terry eye serum and cream so I am already a fan of their products.because I love the scent of rose I might be persuaded to get the lip balm also. I love ones that make your lips feel hydrated and have a couple of the max factor ones but that colour reminds me of my granny 😂. I think not lining the upper lip was more chic but I don't know.... Whatever with the trend of only the inside of the mouth having color and then becoming less by the mouth edges is something I like a lot.

These application techniques are great, thank you, Caroline! Gorgeous colours and formulations.... I personally prefer the soft ones, I leave a sharper lip line for Winter. Frustrating that brands don't include SPF30 -50 in their lip products. These Summery colours are perfect and screaming out for SPF. If I put my face SPF over my lips, they are a strange texture to put lipstick on to and I'm not even sure if I'm supposed to apply SPF to lips (?), and specific lip balms like the Ultrasun are so thick that they alter the texture/vibrancy/longevity of any colour applied on top. There's a Violette lip balm that is a tinted SPF, but the shades are so muted, they're pointless. I'm on a mission to find a vibrant, soft texture (like the last Armani one in this video) Summer shade of lipstick with SPF30-50 'built in'. My lips burn so easily and I get through so much more lip balm in Summer than Winter, I'm surprised make up brands aren't on to this. Maybe it's expensive or an impossible formulation as current technology allow, but boy-oh-boy, I personally would buy every shade if someone managed to get it right. So agree with you, lip SPF is so important and our lips really show our age too. Same with handcream, not many have SPF in them so I use suncream but it's not as moisturising as I need! 🙂

Absolutely, there is definitely a hole in the market for more lipsticks, balms etc with high SPF. Tbh I don't understand why every brand isn't releasing spring/summer collections with SPF lip products every year. I've been on the hunt for over 40 years and I still struggle. It's crazy in this new era of daily sun protection in everything, apart from from our lip products, and like JoR00ke said, hand cream with SPF. Come on beauty industry, get it together!

So I was commenting to ask you if you are still using the Dermelect product for the upper lip lines?? You had it in a video (I think it was a couple videos back), and I was wondering if the product did anything for you? I have that product and I quit using it because I never really saw any results🤷‍♀️ but maybe I just didn’t use it long enough! It’s a bitter irony that Max Factor, which started as a US company, now isn’t sold here v_v UPDATE: I bought the Max Factor one (had to order it), and the color was everything I imagined it would be. BUT. The smell. It was like… room deodorizer mixed with plastic. And, it took scrubbing with three different removers and cleansers to get it off, and I still smelled. So, sadly, t’s a no for me :(

Have you checked 'clean' brands yet? Lou Dartford and Tahira beauty often review more eco products maybe you find a lipstick without toxins. My go to brands for lips are rms, Ilia... I thought Violette scores good too.
