I was a LONG time fan and subscriber of DirecTV for 20+ years. Their service kept going down and down and their prices kept going up and up. I did a three month trial of KZbin TV, Hulu with Live TV and DirecTV Now and I went with Hulu with Live TV and absolutely love it. I chose Hulu because I was already a subscriber of their commercial free Hulu service so we watch all our network shows commercial free, albeit one day later. I added on the Hulu Live TV option because that adds most all of my TV into one app and interface. It just makes it easier and we simply love it. We also have Prime Video, Netflix and CBS All Access, but are most likely going to cancel Netflix because we just don't seem to watch it as much. For us, Hulu with Live TV was definitely the way to go. Thanks for such a great video and impartial review of all the major services!

I don’t think Philo should really ever be considered as a stand alone package for most people but it is a fantastic buy for $20. I also have commercial free Hulu with HBO added, Netflix, Amazon Prime, CBS All Access, Apple TV, Pluto TV, Curiosity Stream, Epix, Sundance Now, and a bit of Crackle. Am I saving money - not really but I have predictable quality programming that is mostly high resolution in an easy to use format (Roku). I am also surprised at how little internet speed you need to make this work. I have 40 Mbs DSL service that in reality is about 17 Mbs. Buy a few Roku Ultra’s, install a high speed SD card in each, good to go. Give the local cable company the finger and enjoy TV again.

I apologize for the long post but I rarely review anything so I felt the need to explain in detail... I just switched over to KZbin TV after being with direct tv for 8 years.... We called Direct TV and complained about the spotty service and the fact that were charging us a monthly fee of $50 for boxes that we thought we owned ??? My monthly bill was around $200 per month, they offered to give us a $60.00 discount for one year and the right to purchase the geni boxes for $600.00 ?!... I asked to speak with a supervisor and proceeded to explain my problem and how I was not paying another dime for boxes that we had already paid for about 10X... The supervisor explained that there was nothing else they could offer in terms of discounts, so I told them to disconnect my service 08/28/20... This is where the story get's interesting, I asked them for an address to send there equipment back and I was advised that I would be receiving an email with the forwarding address... I received an email about two day's later saying they were sorry to see us leave as a customer and to just recycle the wireless geni boxes ?????????? OMG!!! ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME ??? You are now telling me to recycle the boxes that I've already paid for 10X and refused to pay another dime for not to mention lose a customer that's been paying you $200 per month for the last 8 years ???? and you wonder why people are dumping your service?!?! Seriously ???? I'm now looking for a new cellphone provider because guess what?? We use AT&T for that too at the tune of $400 per month ???? So AT&T is losing a customer that has been paying them $600 per month for the last 8 years ???? That's $57,600.00 .. My only regret is that I did not do this sooner... FYI!!! Google FI seems to be a decent option for cellphone service as well so if we combine our total monthly expenses for KZbin TV & GoogleFi we are looking at $215 per month.... That's a savings of $385 per month I apologize for the long post again! But this shit really pissed me off and then they wonder why companies like google are taking over the market... NO BRAINIER .. I purchased 3 Apple 4k TV boxes and two chromecast and we love it!!!! we cut the cord and did not spend one minute on the phone with some incompetent customer service rep that just repeats everything back to me and still does not resolve the issues and I'm saving $135 on cable service per month.... #KZbinTV #GoogleFi #ATT #DirectTV

After streaming from Prime, KZbin TV, Netflix, Pluto TV, Hulu and Sling, I'd say KZbin and Netflix are the best bang for the buck. Sling buffers so much and has so much fluff make it the worse by far. Also, the $$$ value for what you get is poor for Sling compared to YT & Netflix. I throw in Prime as an add on for the other benefits with Amazon. Bottom line get YT with Prime. Avoid Sling. Netflix is a necessary luxury.

Now KZbin TV is losing Fox Sports Regional Networks. Looks like this only affects KZbin TV. The others, Fubo and Sling have both resolved their matters with Fox Sports Regional Networks (RSN). And while RSN swears that the cost elevation is beyond their control, they've tried to work with KZbin TV, but to no avail. Looks like KZbin TV has to be blamed, too. Sinclair: “We offered KZbin TV the best terms under which their competitors carry our regional sports networks,” a spokesperson said. “Unfortunately, they alone decided to drop these channels citing ‘rising costs’ despite our offer to actually lower the fees they pay us. We also offered to continue negotiating under a short-term extension so that their subscribers could continue to watch their favorite hometown teams. They’ve not yet responded to this offer. Given the ease with which KZbin TV subscribers can drop the service and switch providers, we are surprised that they’ve chosen this course.” Now, surely there's more to it than this, but Sinclair reduced their fees and offered KZbin TV an extension and worse, KZbin TV hasn't responded and in my book, that's damning. Here's another indication of bad faith by KZbin TV: "KZbin TV hasn’t indicated that any price reductions will result due to Sinclair pulling its networks. So you’re paying the same $49.99 - but now for less content. “At the very least, you have to imagine KZbin TV will be receiving lots of questions from subscribers asking about how much they intend to lower the subscription fee given that they are removing some of the most popular and in-demand programming they carry,” the Sinclair spokesperson said. No matter who's right on the matter with Sinclair, if KZbin TV doesn't substantially lower pricing to equate to the loss of all those channels, then they're unscrupulous and gouging.

I was on Sling, then PSVue, and now Fubo. Fubo has an option to increase your number of streams to 3, vice their default of 2, and to boost your DVR hours to 500. Of course, you pay for both concessions. Fubo's interface sucks: no screencaps when fast-forwarding; no browsing channels while watching live programs (except on ROKU); no "back" button/function--you must go thru the entire guide to return to the previous channel; and no recording option on Showtime channels. Additionally, all the channels come in at 720p, though the sports channels are all aired at 60fps. I like that they have Viacom and Disney channels, but for the money and interface you would have to be an avid sports fan to accept their limited interface. (P.s. i cannot record shows or browse easily on my tablet, which was something altogether new to me.)

Again great review!! Again being terminally ill I spend a lot of time in bed watching TV. I live in the country so no cable TV available. I'm probably paying just slightly less than a cable subscription but here's what works for me. OTA channels with 50 mile radius antenna gives me all local networks plus about 30 other channels for free. Then I just started Hulu with live TV and free 50 hours of DVR. The price just went up $10 a month so now $65 monthly but I get a good variety of channels, about 73, including sports. They also just came out with a bundled package of Hulu+, Disney+ and ESPN +. Because I'm already a HULU subscriber I get a bundle price of 2.99 monthly to add Disney + and ESPN+. So my Hulu bill will be around $70 mo. I also subscribe to Netflix premium 4k for $17.41 mo. and Prime Video for $5.99 mo. I then also have PLUTO TV which is free and lastly my LG OLED TV has another 125 ip channels built in for free. So for just under $100 monthly I've got quite the variety. The reason I subscribe to Hulu, Prime and Netflix is because they all are putting out amazing original programming, with big name stars. I've Loved The Marvelous Mrs. Maesial, Sneaky Pete, Fortitude, John Clancy, and many others. TV is my one source of escape from the daily pains of my illness. I just had an emergency hospital visit with emergency surgery. 5 days in a hospital is no fun. Matt you make me smile everyday and I have bought some deals. I ask perhaps you could say a prayer for me. I truly appreciate your show and the hard work you, your wife and your crew put in each day. God bless your family and I pray you have the most special Christmas ever! Cheers!

Orange and blue and DVR is 50$ MTH and not sure if I get all the locals like the PBS channels I get with DirecTV which I have to give up since there not honoring the Att president's office decision in 2016 and they are no longer responding to my messages! In other words this is the price of the service don't care what kinda arrangement you had when we updated your neighborhood which I would have never allowed

My problem with HULU is the start-up. Sometimes it takes two minutes to get going. Also, at least 2 or 3 times a week I have internet connection problems. I have to retype my internet password. Are all streaming services this bad? I'm thinking about getting KZbin.

I wish Playstation Vue wasn't going to discontinue their service in January 2020. AT&t tv NOW just went up to $65 for me and I discontinued it. I started at $35. I wish there was an antenna for those of us who have tons of trees in our neighborhood.

@@MsPynkPynk Me and my wife loved Playstation vue as well!! It started getting glitchy last month after they announced they were closing down so I decided to try fubo TV because we wanted most of the channels we got from Playstation. Honestly we like fubotv better, It has a cable like interface and the dvr is great and we upgraded to the 500 hours a month. It's missing ABC channel and ESPN but there is a app called Locust which transmits local channels and I recommend to donate 5 bucks a month to relieve the every 15 minute interruptions to donate when you are watching it. If you try the 7 day trial I recommend you do it on the web and not the app itself since people have complained when they canceled on the app they still got charged.

Love KZbin TV as well, but have run into an issue over the last week or two. For whatever reason, the update they did a few months ago adding autoplay and a cosmetic change to the Guide never happened on my Roku TV (TCL) or my LG TV until about a week or two ago. Anyways, there is no option to turn off the Autoplay feature on either device. I also tried it on my Xbox One X, so the fact that it is happening on every device means it's not just an isolated issue with a particular device. It leads me to believe they are forcing the Autoplay feature onto people now. Am I correct on this? This is a dealbreaker for me, as I left other services after their trial period because of this. Would love to keep KZbin TV if I can though.

Question which would be the best service for watching the NFL live and if you live in Denver but Jacksonville is your favorite team?

I have a couple questions. I have PlayStation Vue but it's shutting down on the 31st. I'm going to switch to KZbin TV. My internet has a dynamic IP address that changes every so often which causes me location id issues with PS Vue. PS Vue commonly says i'm in a different location when I'm home. 1) When I change to YTTV, will this continue to happen? 2) If so, is there any way to get around this? 3) Should I call my internet provider & purchase a static IP address that doesn't change? Would prefer not to pay extra if I don't have to. Thanks, great vid.
