I’d go sock less for sure or super low cut bomba socks so you have full ankle exposure and do a slim Levi denim dark blue 28 in length blue Jeans so they are almost looking like a capri but not make sure they are stretch cotton also and top with a white button down for an incredible look

It really depends. If you believe you’ll be wearing a lot of black clothes. Then you’ll be safer with a black loafer. Also black will go with more in general. But I seldom wear black so brown goes great with my choices. Did that help?

The best penny loafer ever made was designed and manufactured by Freeman Shoe Company in Beloit, Wisconsin. Sadly, they are out of business, due to the cost of manufacturing quality in the USA. The penny loafer had a high moccasin profile with a hand-sewn beef roll top, including a leather saddle for your penny. The sole and heel were a thick quality leather that created a lift to your height and walking gait that made you feel light footed and ready to dance towards success. Hand-made leather quality shoes are medicine to your feet and will create a positive attitude to one's mind for work and lead to a better economy for yourself and the world we live in. The USA needs more hand-sewn leather shoes and boots made by cobblers who create quality that lasts.

I have jay butler penny loafers that have full leather on the inside of the shoe. I wore them A LOT with no socks (in fact, they didn't fit with socks until they stretched a little after a few wears), and can confirm they did not stink at all. I put in shoe trees now, but I didn't for the first almost year that I owned them.

I almost wear all leather shoes bare foot because it is very comfortable in summer. Of course the shoes have to be traditional construction such as moccasin style with no man made material.
