@@shinybug2307 Stardew Valley is great. Looking though? Not so sure. It's definitely top 50. And the developer is to be commended for making the game by himself. But I think the visuals are like another great game Axiom Verge. Very nice although they take a backseat to gameplay and mechanics due to the solo development. I know Fez was also developed almost completely by one dude. I don't know. Just visual fidelity I suppose.

Well Eternal Castle goes on my wishlist ASAP, looks so cool. The Bergson's home in Children of Morta is genuinely one of the most beautiful pieces of pixel art I've seen, glad it's mentioned here. Star Renegades is just plain gorgeous, despite a few gameplay criticisms, you can't argue with how good it looks. I've never played a game even remotely like World of Horror but there's something fascinating about it to me and I think I'll probably pick that up when it comes out of EA just to see what the heck it is.

You should look into "the void rains upon her heart". A labor of love, with lovely pixel art, where you love monsters, representing negative emotions. It is a rogue lite side scroller, but with quite a bit of story and massive content and very tight gameplay, without being a bullet hell. It will be out of early access next month apparently.

My favorite is currently Rain World, simply for the sheer level of detail that is put into it. I can’t imagine how long it took them to build that world, even with the ability to place and reuse assets multiple times. I also love Starbound for its parallaxed backgrounds, especially the ones on Savannah planets.

I'm really glad that The Game Kitchen has been finding so much success with Blasphemous. Their previous title, the point and click psychological horror game The Last Door, is a huge favorite of mine and I was really hoping they would do well with Blasphemous when I first heard about it. They put so much extra effort into developing a truly immersive atmosphere in their games, they deserve every bit of good fortune for it. Also, The Last Door is seriously NOT for the faint of heart! I mean it, you have been warned...

"Scourge Bringer is Dead Cells meets Celeste" -- this description is so accurate it's actually ridiculous lol "Any list of pixelart games would be incomplete w/o Owlboy" -- yesyesyesyesyesyes xD So happy you included Iconoclasts, in my eyes it's a masterpiece in every possible sense. Such expansive story, stellar animation and pixelart, not to mention killer soundtrack, all created by one person, 7 years in the making... I had never seen such interesting and innovative boss fights before. Not a perfect game (nothing really is) but still tremendously enjoyable and memorable. And the feels, oh the feels. It's in my heart forever... Whew I needed to gush, lol.

Next year try to make BEST LOOKING INDEPENDENT GAMES WITH AAA GRAPHICS AND GAME PLAY. Which genre you asked? Platformers, let us divide it into action, action adventure, Precision Platformer and Metroidvania. All of these are platformers and these are divided into subgenres. Like RTS, Real Time Strategy since 2007 had a subgenre Tower Defense. In this video you made a video about the the art of the game, pixel art 2D graphics. Next video, you make Platformer Metroidvania games first, second will be action - those platformers that are shooters like mighty number 9, gunvolt, mega man and ratchet and clank, third precision platformers like super meat boy and celeste and fourth will be action adventure like Monster Boy And The Cursed Kingdom, onirism, Shantae and Sonic Mania. You have to be right in each game you will feature in these genres. Then you could do shooters and RPG next. Could you do this December one review of any Independent game? Currently I am playing Yakuza 0 and Touhou Luna Nights.
