Yes!! If you love pickles, it’s definitely worth a drive out to Ft. Worth. When you go, ask them for directions to the factory a few miles from there. Drive by with the windows down for free smells. It’s the best!!

Pickles in general,pure perfection. In a pinch,I’ll pop over to the grocery store and buy the ‘spicy mix’,it’s got a variety of goodies,my favorite is the cauliflower! In England,there is this crazy sauce called ‘Picallily’. It’s kinda a yellow mustard,with whole pickled Pearl onions and pickled cauliflower! It’s super with fries,better than any other condiment! But,okra. Pickled okra is heaven. And an 80’s okra story. Growing up in southeast Texas,my school district had the best school lunches. The cafeteria ladies were either Cajun,or Creole,and together,they handmade the most incredible food. This was decades before food service trucks delivered cans of goodness knows what. And. Their fried okra was the stuff of legend. Literally,parents looked at the lunch calendars the recieved for the year,and on any day that the fried okra was there,loads of parents would show up at school,pay their 2 bux,and eat that insane okra,it melted in your mouth. In the center of every lunch table,was a jar of pickled tobasco peppers,sweet and spicy,they somehow complimented everything!

I love pickles... and I would too drink it out of the jar but there lot of sodium. One thing about garlic is, it always too strong. The Bloody Mary is really popular here in South Dakota. It is super spicy, but people mix with their drinks.
@Our80sLife3 жыл бұрын
Hi Robby! You're right, there is a lot of sodium in pickle juice. Sometimes I dilute it in water. Garlic is definitely a strong flavor, but I do think it has some health benefits as well. Thanks for watching!

I don't think I've ever heard of Best Maid pickles, but from the looks of that place, it must be a huge deal in DFW! So many pickle things, LOL! I remember getting big pickles at football games or the movies too, but I'm pretty sure they were whatever came from the food/restaurant supply store, I seriously doubt they were trucked over here from TX :) Oh wow, Keith, you should be a little bit afraid of some of those, you guys got a ton of cool stuff, and a cute shirt Abby! :) I don't drink pickle juice, but I always add a dab of pickle juice to things like cole slaw and potato salad, LOL! Easy pass on the bloody mary ones, oh my. Beer pickles sound promising, weird that you guys couldn't pin down the spice. Just ok, boo. Pass on okra, not even for a thousand bucks could you get this picky/salty girl to taste that one! Oh Keith, your dislike of mayo upsets me down to my very core! We love mayo and I can just eat mayo, on a cracker or piece of bread (does that gross you out?!). Sandwich spread looks great! Y'alls faces when you tried the cotton candy was beyond priceless!!! Great video you guys!! Take care, and have a wonderful and blessed day ---Stacy 😍💚

I think they're mostly a Texas thing, but I did recently buy some Best Maid pickles here in Kansas at my local Aldi store of all places. I love the idea of adding pickle juice to coleslaw and potato salad. I sometimes use it in my tuna and chicken salad as well. I know the pickled okra sounds weird, but it was surprisingly good. Keith is so sensitive to mayo, even the smell. I don't know where this strong aversion came from, but I still love it. The sandwich spread was great! Later I tried my idea of adding it to shredded cheese to make a cheese spread, and it was delicious! That cotton candy, on the other hand, was just plain wrong. We've let other friends try it, and no one has liked it so far, lol! Thanks for watching :)

@@Our80sLife Ooh, I bet that sandwich spread with cheese was awesome! I'll look the next time I hit either of our grocery stores (Kroger or Walmart) but I highly doubt we have any Best Maid products over here. Oh well, road trip to Texas one day, maybe, LOL!!! Great video, sorry about the not so great products, but it was fun to see everything y'all got and tried :)
