I came to watch how to put this puppy back together! I cannot align the sliding plate and insert the cutting blade anymore. Do you know to REASSEMBLE this device please?

What happened to the guard (pusher)--the prongs are all bent in different ways. It must be really hard to push down on it!

A knife and cutting board are easiest to use and clean unless you're doing a big job--lots of cutting. I use a food processor or electric mandoline then. Even though I have this mandoline, I find it annoying to take all the other blades out 1st (unless you want to wash them, too) and I'm intimidated about cutting my fingers. It's easy for foods to slip. Always use a safety cutting glove. I cringe every time I see cooks or chefs use a mandoline without a guard. Yikes!
