Best Mascaras at the Drugstore 2022!

Thank you for keeping this at around the $10 price point. To me that's a true drug store price. I fly through mascaras even though they last 3 months, if you use it everyday it's gone in a month. For a $10 mascara that's $120 a year just in mascara and think about of all of the other makeup, skin care, sunscreen and beauty products we use as well.

That Milani mascara does miracles for my eyelashes and is my new holy grail. I also recently made a purchase from Rephr and decided to splurge and buy my 1st high end eyelash curler and I think that's making a huge difference too. The combo of the Milani mascara and the Rephr eyelash curler makes me look and feel like I have completely new lashes. 🙂

Do you get oily by chance? I want to try this one but my issue is a lot of mascaras transfer to my under eye later in the day from my oils.

@@Crystal0139 I always get mascara transfer whenever I wear it on my lower lashes. I don't get it with the Milani mascara, but I also don't put it on my lower lashes so I'm not sure if it would transfer or not.

I'm glad you mentioned the Pacifica one in the beginning because that's my current favorite mascara 😂 it's hard for me to find a mascara that doesn't smudge or flake on me, but also doesn't irritate my eyes. It's rare for me to find a mascara that I don't have a bad reaction to.

I used to use Grande Lash. It definitely helps with length and curl. I have super straight Asian lashes. I had to stop using the serum because it was irritating to my lids. It also dried out my eyes. I’m so jealous of those people that can use a serum without side effects because they do work.

I use castor oil. I purchased mascara tubes with the spoolie wands and put organic castor oil in one. Every night before bed, I apply a little to my brows and a lot to my lashes. I don’t mind if a little oil gets in my eyes because that can help head off cataracts later in life. The castor oil has made my brows softer and a little fuller. My lashes (long but very straight and they’ve thinned a bit since Covid) are much more resilient so they don’t snap off when I curl them anymore.

I also make sure I massage rose hip seed oil into my brows and I’ve been doing that for years. It helped my brows grow back A LOT after Covid.

@@monstermcboo7282 I have put Castor oil on my brows, but I am not consistent enough with it. I have not seen the results. I need to make it a habit, somehow, like the rest of my skincare. I have not attempted to put it on my lashes, but I will consider it. Thanks for the suggestion.

In my country, the Netherlands, drugstore mascara is really up there in price. L'Oréal mascara goes for, if you calculate in dollars, about twenty dollars. Maybelline, easily seventeen dollars. Essence or Catrice are among the few that actually have a reasonable price. No Covergirl or Lottie London in the Dutch drugstores.

@@KellyGooch I have! I actually forgot I had one until you pulled yours out a couple weeks ago. I gave it another go recently bc I was gifted the Lash Princess (I think that's what it's called? It's the green one). I tried the separator after applying, but it was a lost cause. I had to remove everything and start over and then clean the separator bc the mascara got everywhere lol.. thank goodness I always do my eyes 1st 😂 It's ok, I've succumbed to the realization that I'm just not destined for dirt cheap mascara.. but I'm definitely checking out your other picks! Right now my fave is the Lancôme Lash Idole (I only buy minis), but if I can pay even less I (and my bank account) would be that much happier! 😂

I've been LOVING that new Covergirl mascara based on your rec! So, so good. I was looking for a good, natural looking brown mascara so I went ahead and tried this one in the brown and love it. As for the Essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect mascara, I far prefer the waterproof formula. That one goes on like a dream and you don't even need two full coats to have amazing, full, long lashes! I don't tend to wear waterproof mascara often because I hate taking it off - even with great makeup removing balm it seems to just fuse to my lashes - but this one is worth the effort. It is the one that looks best on camera when I have a full day of meetings on Zoom and it really does stand up to big tears. I'm dying to try the one from Ulta - my go to mascaras are largely tubing formulas - but my two closest Ulta's have been out of stock. So glad for the Target tip! Thanks Kelly!

I got the Ulta brand mascara called Lash Flash in a free gift and decided to try it out yesterday and omg mind blown! I absolutely love it! So much length, separation, curl and a little bit of volume which is my favorite. Definitely worth a try! 😁💕💕

I discovered this Lottie London mascara from Taylor Wynns channel about 3 months ago and I’ve since bought another one as a back up ! My number ONE mascara from the first time I used it .. love it too girl !! #2 is loreals Bambi oversized eyes , it’s phenomenal too !!!

I personally dislike the Pacifica mascara. The formula is so wet, and brush bristles are so long, that the mascara ends up all over your top eyelids as you apply, and then you can’t blink for a minute unless you want it all over your lower lids.

This is what I was looking for, if these mascaras transfer. I use the cg last blast active. It doesn’t transfer but it’s not the best or anything. Trying to find a mascara that doesn’t transfer but gives more volume…. For my birthday I got Fenty mascara and it’s really nice, doesn’t transfer but it’s not that easy remove.

Buyer beware of the essence lash Princess waterproof. I bought it for my straight lashes and it holds a curl really well, but if you have oily skin this will smudge like CRAZY. All mascaras smudge on me, but this one was by far the worst I’ve used in a long time. So oily skinned gals, stay away.

I may give the Milani one a try, but I have yet to try a drugstore mascara that actually worked for me. Any mascara that I liked the affect of, smudged horribly, especially Lash Princess. I haven't tried Milani yet... Not sure if I should gamble.

I love all of those mascaras. I do want to mention from personal experience since you mentioned you use grande lash serum. This serum will permanently change the color of your eyes if you have light brown, hazel and green eyes. It will make them brown or even more brown than they were. Will also cause dark pigmentation of the eyelids and under eye area, this is due to the i gradient “prostaglandin” which is the same as rapid lash and all those Rx lash serums which the ingredient is used to treat glaucoma. I have very light brown eyes almost leaning to hazel and I can tell in the month I used it my eyes got a bit darker and so did my eyelids. I love the results but I love my eye color more so I stopped using it, and while doing research there is an active class action against grande lash for these side effects/injuries. A safer option in my opinion is the elf lash serum and the ordinary lash serum, safer, work (not as fast, but they do) and more affordable.

Hi! I’ve used lash serums for years without any darkening! But yes, I definitely recommend that people make themselves aware of the potential side effects! And I’ve tried using lash serums from brands like elf but because they don’t include that active ingredient, they are unable to impact the growth cycle of the lashes. They’re essentially just “lash conditioners”. I personally didn’t see any results with them.
