BEST MECHANICAL KEYBOARD UNDER $50? Tecware Phantom 104/87 Keyboard Review

Anyways, I would just like to tell you that you should follow my Instagram account at instagram.com/techtrovert.official/ Anyways, here are some editor's notes from my friend who's kinda a mechanical keyboard enthusiast, hope this answers some questions: 1. How smooth are they? (They're kind of scratchy for linear keys and a little bit of hard to notice spring sound but it's there, also the stabilizers are super sucky out of the box and there's not an easy way to mod them because of the weird way the plate is mounted, so the big buttons [like spacebar] are weird) 2. Are they good for my G A M E R games? (I'd say that the keyboard doesn't affect gaming that much but it feels nice and there's n key rollover, windows lock, and no macro keys) 3. Does the RGB give me more fps? (answer: yes) 4. Is it good for typing? (I'd say it's a little weird for typing quickly as far as ergonomics go, it's more for gamers of course.) P.S. Ima try to get back into postin more often again but Idk for a while, we'll see lol

Bought mine (104 key variant) over 5 years ago for $57, delivered, from AliExpress. It's my daily driver and gets tons of use as my home office keyboard and for weekend/after work hours use. I have changed a handful of the Outemu blue switches out for other newer Outemu switches (Purple, Orange, Golden, Mute Grey) switches; on certain heavy use keys for a specific game, as well as for the space bar. One of the double shot keys also needed replacing after 4 years of heavy use. After five years, it looks frankly the same as the day I purchased it...save for the space bar and "Enter" having a slight gloss in areas due to normal plastic wear. The RGB looks great after all of these years, too. I have kept it practically all white, save for a handful of keys in green or red or blue. This keyboard is built like a tank. The braided cable shows no signs of wear. I do keep it clean and weekly brush it with an (unused) soft paintbrush and electric blower. As well, I clean around it with an alcohol solution/Q-tips/paper towels, monthly... just to keep it from becoming a gross fixture on my desk. I hate a dirty keyboard. I also upgraded my company- issued keyboard at the office with a Red Dragon K-580 Pro RGB, another fine keyboard. When I moved to 100% remote from home office, I gave that keyboard to my eldest daughter for her home PC station. It's also excellent, but I felt the Tecware was a bit heftier built and better for me. She prefers the RGB, macro keys, and roller volume control on the K580...frankly, I never used those attributes. [I would've purchased the Phantom (again) instead of the Red Dragon, but I couldn't find the 104-key variant on AliEx, at the time]. All in all, the Phantom really feels premium and has proven one of the better PC accessory purchases these past years. Definite RECOMMEND in my book.

I appreciate that comment more than you think! I would honestly say it's probably because of the commonality of review channels, and although some videos do good, people usually aren't here to stay except just get the review, buy it, and go. That may work for some people, but I want to build a relationship with a community of more people like you mentioned, and I have a plan for new content types. _Stick around for the end of the month if you want to find out :D_

YES! Thank you so much for that comment that actually means so much to me since people often associate my content to be good if it's an information-filled review. My friend said that you can do full custom perkey rgb onboard without software. By pressing FN + ~ , is this true?

just bought it. 100% worth it since I got it for 40 and free shipping. You forgot to mention that it's got foam inside which makes it sound better and how the stabilizers are lubed from the factory, at least in my case.

I wanted to ask if you still have the cloud stringers and how they are.

Yes, I do! They've been holding-up pretty well, the build on them is still working as-if new, and it really is a comfortable design. Now that I have been asked enough, I should say the wear-and-tear has been nonexistent for me, as long as you're not too rough the more fragile parts like the cable. Let me know if that helps!

Unfortunately, I don't think that this keyboard does by default. However, you can go to www.tecware.co/phantom, and they actually sell all different types of keyboard shrouds and keycaps that not only change its color if you'd like to, but they also give the keyboard a lot more of a sleek/simple look in my opinion.
