Best Mechanical Pencil for Architects
This video shows my favourite and best mechanical pencil for architects. Its not really a mechanical Pencil but clutch pencil, which is slightly different to a mechanical pencil. Its got an advantage over other pencils because you can draw faster and its good for expressive sketching and designing. Especially when used with a thick 4B lead. This one also has a sharpener at the top.

I remember my dad owning a clutch pencil back when everything (I believe) was manual. I never knew it has a built in sharpener. He uses a small cylindrical sharpener that also doubles as a catcher for the shavings. The way it works is that you put the pencil in the hole in the lid, and you crank it clockwise. It's like a desk sharpener but in reverse: you're cranking the pencil instead of the handle, the blade is in the center, and it's the lead that goes around inside. Manual drafting tools are really amazing... I also remember the speedball (pen with stencil for letters & numbers) for writing text, but that's for another story. Maybe you can make a video on that, Architect Russell 😉
