Also note that Mega Rayquaza, Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre all have "Primal Boost", so they boost ALL ATTACKS by 10% in raids, even when they aren't active(they have to be in party) and they also boost their weather types by 30% similar to megas but megas only boost by 30% when they are active. So if you don't have good mega evolution for raid, just put one of these at the end of your battle party so everyone else in raid deals 10% more damage for the duration of raid

To be fair, Megas are not used for damage most of the time. Most of the time you want to mega evolve a mega that shares a type with the raid boss. Thats because it gives extra candy. For example against Moltres you want to evolve Aerodactyl. Its shares the type flying and rock is double effective against it to boost the other people in the lobby.

And actually, it's just the XL candy. Regular candy is boosted by any mega when you catch the raid boss. The mega boost with a fully maxed mega level is somewhere in the ball park of 1 to 1.2 more XL candies on average (I tracked this on my own, and it seems to be pretty consistent).

Pro tip: When primals are in raids together, mega evolve a swampert. He gets the extra candy for both Kyogre and Groudon. But Primal Kyogre is far better for taking down Groudon so keep that in mind.

Unless you’re soloing raid bosses, 99% of the time the most damage you can do in raids is when you have mega ray or a primal in the back. The 10% over the entire fight nearly always trumps the 30% from a same-type mega.

I'm talking in situations where you have enough people to make up for the loss of your own dps. Like yeah would I recommend it for a solo challenge, no but if you want to boost like 15 people regardless if they're using dark and ghost types go for it

I do not know why, but when I open the dps/tdo speadsheet, the dps , tdo, er ,etc it shows me for mega rayquaza is 29+ and 28+ with the dragon tail and air slash respectively with dragon ascent but for you it is showing less. If you think that it is at level 50 or weather boost or something, then it is not as I have not changed a single setting on it, it is same as yours?

I'm probably like the only level 50 account that hasn't used Megas decided Lucario was going to be first from day 1 got the Shundo maxed out and ready. If not probably the only account, unless someone is waiting for Mewtwo which will probably be the last one. Unlikely, but with Pokemon Legends Z coming hoping for these Megas Ninetales, Delphox, Primarina, Meowscarada or Serperior, Flygon, Lapras, Luxray and Milotic. And probably also unlikely wouldn't mind seeing Mega Yveltal and Xerneas or a fusion of both Xerneas and Yveltal.

If I'm to be correct, you actually don't need to match the type for raid pokemon to receive extra candy for catching them, only for the bonus XL candy does the type matter

It looks like every time after a spotlight hour or a main pokemon event where the same type of pokemon is spawning so you catch many of the same type if i do trades after that event (same day) lucky trades are reduced, but if i do the trade the next day is back to normal. it happens to me many times so Im curious if is real or what. With all the mega yet to be added, why is the mega evolution badge so off? I have 42/46, suggesting only 4 are left to be added, but Auduino, Mawhile, Galade, Camerupt, Sharpedo, Metagross, Mewtwo x and y, are all yet to be added. i dont think you're fairly considering the value of a mega diancie. as the BEST rock mega and second best fairy mega, with only a .4 dps difference to gardevoir, i think its honestly almost mvp behind mega ray. if you double move a diancie then with a single mega evolve you have the top rock and fairy type raider in one moveset

Update to date, all Pokemon appear in Elite raid & Every elite raid their own errors. Hoopa Unbound, Kanto Legendary Birds spawning in the wild after elite raid completed but fade away after tapping on it. Regidrago, catch circle error. Rare spawn didn't appear despite being mentioned earlier. Regieleki, no 24 hour egg countdown timer. Server issue on 11 am EST. Enamorus, no elite raid at 6 p.m. their own local time. This elite raid fell on Wednesday which is inconvenient to certain players. Mega Rayquaza, no 24 hours egg raid countdown. Earlier time zones countries had no elite raid countdown until 10.00 a.m. local time. Earlier times zone countries had the very least amounts of elite raid for every time slot. ( 12p.m, 1p.m., 5p.m. & 6p.m.) Source: PoGo Central.
