Just wanted to say thank you brother! This helped me out leaps and bounds as I just recently got the Blue Yeti after using a Snowball for about a year and this thing had been super annoying trying to find the right settings. You deserve more subs man, hope to see more from you. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.

Hey thank you for this video, it was very helpful! I’m a complete newbie with this stuff and this has immediately improved the quality of my mic A LOT. I have an issue though and I was hoping someone would know what to do. I’m using the blue yeti with streamlabs, and in addition to the recommended filters I’ve currently got the compressor to these settings which seemed to work pretty well for me at first: Ratio 10 Threshold -17 Attack 10 Release 60 Output gain 0 (Not currently using a limiter, but I’ve tried that and it didn’t seem to fix the problem) When I’m speaking normally or a little loudly, it functions perfectly, but if I yell or laugh loudly, it’s like the compressor compresses it WAY too much. I can’t describe it very well but it’s like it compresses the audio so much that you can barely hear me laughing and it just sounds really muffled. It’s not like it’s peaking the audio (it doesn’t get crazy loud), it’s like it’s compressing so much that it’s super muffled and you can’t make anything out when I speak or laugh loudly (sorry if this is a poor description lol). I’m assuming that this is a compressor issue, but what should I change to stop that? Do I need to change the ratio or the threshold, and if so, In what direction do those filters need to go? And if it’s not a compressor issue what else could be done to fix it? Thank you again for making this tutorial, it means so much to people like me who start off with no idea what they’re doing lol

you gotta start somewhere man! best of luck!

I would start with lowering the ratio from 10... for me, a high ratio would just cut off the ends of my sentences. Lowering it to 3 made a major difference for me without it being too aggressive on the compression

Question, If I were to use Blue voice software for the yeti should I still change these settings in OBS? Great video by the way!
@midnyte_tv2 жыл бұрын
I am not sure, however, if there is software from Blue that does similar things that OBS does, you may not have to. Thank you!

Bro, thx u so much for tutorial. I have one question - which parameter i should change, if i want to set my mouth separate from blue yeti about 20-25 cm and keep my voice loud? Is this gain parameter or smth else?

Probably noise gate

Great video but somehow if i snapp my fingers with those settings I still can hear them poppin in the mic xD Im using Blue Yeti Nano with the same settings as you have. I love my mic but it picks up every sound, like even when im typing.. eew ;(
@midnyte_tv4 жыл бұрын
You may need to adjust the noise suppression as your fingers may snap louder than mine. Keep playing with it, I guarantee you'll find the right setting :)
