Which microphone you are using for your main recording.....
@theelusivefamily90433 жыл бұрын
I have googled and KZbin this question and almost no one has an answer. What is a good microphone to mount to a DSLR for recording of fitness videos? No one has done a video on fitness videos where they aren't recommending lave mikes which doesn't make sense for movement. The DSLR will be set up on a tripod between 7-10 feet away from a the individual, and lots of movement. If you drop an affiliate link with a good explanation, I will purchase, thanks!

Great stuff, Andy. I own four of these mics, yet I still learned a bunch from your video. Think my Zoom H5 is awesome, but I don't get that much use from it. H1 is a must for every kit. I use it all the time for various purposes. The ATR2100 is incredible for its flexibility, and I always take it on the road. Even at home, I use this sometimes in place of my Blue Yeti, which is sooo sensitive. Example: your demo of the Blue Yeti could have used less gain, IMHO. I did not buy the shotgun accessory for the H4, because not so pleased with a couple of online demos. Your video convinced me that I might have been wrong. I assume that you had the H4 and SSH6 on a boom pole overhead? Keep up the great work, Andy.

Loved the video, I feel stupid as I bought a £7 USB condenser mic this morning. Even recoding Windows voice recorder & Audacity it was ok but for how long it’ll last. Got my eye on the Blue Yeti or blue snowball. Keep safe and take care. Brian D. 🇬🇧

Andy! Good info to consider. I am looking at recording a small group of 3-6 people in a kitchen having conversation. I’m trying to stay away from getting a lavalier mic for each person. Spoke to a few people and have been researching where it appears the zoom is a good choice. I purchased a Movo and Boya small shotgun mic but am not pleased with aiming it at the group so I can just focus on using my Osmo Pocket because it doesn’t pick up that well. They’d be roughly 5-7 feet away. I’ve seen that I need to get serious about a shotgun. I’m about to use the Zoom H1n to see how it handles the crowd in a closed environment. More reading points to skipping the Zoom H4/n pro and invest in the versatility of the H5 since it is modular and expandable. What do you think? Who is a good shotgun mic for small groups in front of you without using a boom, etc? Stick with Zoom’s $150 in house or get another and run it into it via XLR? I’ll need to keep this system for a few years. Any help is appreciated!

Another good USB/XLR hybrid mic is the Samson Q2U, which is very similar to the Audio-Technica ATR2100-USB, but it’s a few bucks cheaper and some people like the sound better (although it’s largely subjective).

Great video! If you have a chance, I would love a recommendation. I'm fairly technologically challenged and really don't want anything difficult to use. Right now I'm currently filming on my Samsubg Galaxy s7 Edge, but I'm thinking about getting a Canon m50 when I have the money. At the moment, I have a cheap lapel mic that I would love to replace for better sound, but I just want something that will be good and also easy to use. I don't really do voice over work much. Mostly just videos of me, standing a few feet away from the camera. I'm kind of lost in all these options, so if you could recommend something I would be really grateful!

Is the wireless lavalier system my best and only option? Thanks again I really appreciate your help!

I am so new to this. I love creating videos...may be a silly question, but I like to use my computer for the camera. If I were to buy the Yeti, would you see the microphone in the videos to be close enough to it? If that is the case, the Zoom H1 seems a good way to go, but how do you sync the sound with the video? Clearly I'm novice

What are you shooting, and how? If you are shooting yourself on camera, you would probably want a nice lapel mic, which can be great and cost less than $20. The one I use is the Movo LV1 www.pocketvideopro.com/lv1 If you are shooting yourself moving around, a wireless might be better for you. the WMic80 is great, I reviewed it here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qKWVi6xopZp1n6s If you are sitting at your desk to do screen recordings of software or games, the Blue Yeti or Snowball are very good.
