Thank you for watching! I would like to clarify an important point from the video around 00:45. I mistakenly mentioned that Mid Cap funds must invest at least 80% in mid-cap stocks, but the correct information is that they must invest at least 65% of their total assets in mid-cap stocks. The research was accurate, but I misspoke during the video recording. Apologies for any confusion, and I appreciate your understanding!

@@pranjalkamra Thank you for the clarification. There is another observation I would like to make. When the overall market was going up in 2023-24, many active Midcap funds underperformed the index. But since the downturn started in late september, tables have also turned remarkably. Since then, 28 out of 29 active Midcap funds have outperformed their index quite handsomely. A skilled fund manager can add real value to the portfolio in a market downturn.

I understand your opinion on Flexi Cap being of equivalent risk compared to Mid Cap but the fund you recommended (Parag Parekh FC) carries no where the same risk compared to a mid cap fund. Its more of a large cap fund and hence a substitute to large cap.

its more of a large cap fund as of now, that being said its not going to be like that forever as the name suggests its a flexi cap and they have the freedom to pour in money anywhere they like. large cap stocks are fairly valued rn so they're trying to save some bucks for you

PPFAS made a smart move by identifying the overvaluation in mid-cap and small-cap stocks. They exited at the right time and shifted to large-caps, which have more reasonable valuations right now. It’s a great strategy, keeping them ready to invest further when new opportunities come up.

All are saying in comments that you should have recommended motilal oswal mid cap fund. And i agree that it has delivered exceptional returns. Also in recent market correction many motilal funds have taken a less beating than other funds. Ao they must be doing something good. Also they only choose 30-40 stocks in their schemes. Important question - I agree. Midcaps are only 150 and too much money chasing too less stocks has resulted in high valuation. Better to take exposure via L&M or Flexi only. But can Bank Of India mid and small equity & Debt fund be considered. 8 year record, unique product, nearly 35% each in Small & Mid, debt hedge for downside and cash parking during bad phases. Very unique product.

ONE QUESTION SIR QUESTION 🙋 I know mid cap fund is risky . But unke liye kya jo higher return ke liye aur risk le sakte hai to kya unke paas option nahi hai mid cap aur small cap me . Aur aapka kahna sahi hai ki mid cap and small cap abhi higher valuation par hai but hame to sip start karni hai to kab tak wait kare valuation kam hone ka … I think sip valo ko higher valuation se koi phark nahi padta long term me . Unke liye to kam se kam koi good fund ka naam bata de small and mid cap me. Valuation abhi jyada hai to sip kam karenge ..and jaise jaise valuation kam hota hai to sip increase kar sakenge ..ek diversity to maintain hogi portfolio me . Pls read and reply in your Q&A video

One problem is that after investing for 5+ years via SIP your entire investment became a lumpsum on 6th year, so any crash will affect your investment like how it affects a huge investment. it will not give any preference to your investment because you did SIP in the past. People whoinvested for10 years and on 11th year when covid hit or something like 2008 happened their whole investment crashes by 50% or more. So you need to understand that sip is just to average out expensive market, in downmarket it will not help you. P.S I did not say that you should not invest in small or mid cap but just said doing SIP reduced your risk is a fluke
@mukeshgupta72677 сағат бұрын
@@jishnu18ya u r right but we can’t wait to low valuation of market for starting sip in mid cap and small cap .. because no one know where is bottom of market …at least sip start my discipline at lower valuation also in mid and small cap . I know presently sip can’t reduce our risk but at least it gives us punctuality and good exposure of mid cap and small cap in our portfolio in long term.

Try to dig deeper into the configuration of flexi cap funds. On an average, a flexi cap funds invest 40-50% in large cap which I don't want at all. Midcaps I would say is the best and sweetest category. 150 stocks are not less to select from, that too only 65%. I would say this video is a HUGE miss.

U r recommending one fund for each category so that different people can invest funds according to their risk profile & need. I agree that now midcap valuation is expensive, but midcap is the best performing category among others in the long run. Hence, I earnestly request to tell a fund in midcap category so that who wants to invest in midcap will invest & others will skip it for the time being. A sincere request from a younger brother sir.

Midcap funds have to invest at least 65% in midcaps. Fund manager has the liberty to make 35% of investments anywhere else. I do not fully agree with the argument that fund manager has limited scope to select stocks and beat the index. As a retail investor, I am looking for absolute returns in my investment so that I can meet my financial goals and not relative outperformance. If the benchmark index itself is doing well, I have no problem if my fund comes close to it but not able to beat it. If we look at the SIP returns over last 10 years among all diversified equity funds, out of top 20 funds, 7 are actively managed midcap funds.
